How hard is it to play nbl1

I was wondering what type of credentials would a Nbl1 player usually have coming up through the junior comps and how frequent is it

If you know the right people, you don't need any credentials at all. In SA that is.

Some kids just get more opportunity than others regardless of skill

I played for years in the old comp before it rebranded. Definitely need to have a base level of skill/size/athleticism to be successful.

I didn't have anything by way of credentials. I didn’t play reps until u16s and got cut from both the first junior and senior teams I tried out for. Perseverance, working on my game/body, being coachable and having a niche - defence and rebounding - allowed me to play year after year.
