BSA financial results

Word out of the BSA AGM is that BSA despite cutting most of its service to members lost $250k last year and spent up big, losing a huge amount of their savings.

Is BSA headed in the same way as BASA?

Would be contained in the docs. Wait to see what they say when they're published.

So you're telling me a guy that ran a government funded team/organisation hadn’t been able to grasp the concepts of running a multi-million organisation.
The commissioners who made that hire should be embarrassed and ashamed.
He’s gutted that placed and replaced with people (except one) who are making it up as they go.

Agree need to see what the reason is behind the spend , some times a NFP will dip into surplus to spend strategically for the future

Might be jumping the gun here folks

Not even proven true yet by the way

2023 Annual Report is on the BSA website with all the numbers, for everyone to look at.

Not an accountant but the organisation looks in good shape financially.

It looks like the State Basketball Centre despite the government grant also required a sizable contribution in 2023 from BSA cash reserves - A one-off investment that I am sure we agree is great for SA basketball.

I would also guess the SBC took a lot of time and focus for the BSA staff and also incurred significant set-up expense in the P&L.

Annual report shows things are okay.

OP is either unaware or causing trouble.

Annual report shows they lost $250,000 as a company and almost $950,000 in cash in 12 months, almost half their savings. Stated they also took out a loan to install a $500,000 air con/not air con system in the State Basketball Centre.

But everything is ok.

Yes, I would say so. Planned expenditure for major capital works is standard business practice and all will be approved by the Commission who look like they have financial skills well covered in their portfolio.

Nothing to see here. Keep moving.
