2024 NBA Draft vs Bronny

With this year's draft class appearing relatively weak, and considering LeBron James has expressed a desire to play alongside his son Bronny once he reaches the NBA, wouldn't it make sense for a team to take a chance and draft Bronny higher than expected to attract LeBron? While there are many behind-the-scenes factors to consider, what are the chances of this happening? It would certainly make this draft more interesting.

Lebron is too old and a team destroyer. Bronny isn't good enough. Would be a bad decision all around.

He shouldn't be in the NBA, would struggle to get an NBL contract as a local based on his college stats.

Ironically if he'd played as a Next Star in the NBL and averaged 3-4 ppg, drafting him would make more sense.

I think Bron is bluffing. He's just using the idea of it to tempt a team to take Bronny higher than he should go and then will come out saying he wants to forge his own path etc.

If he isnt bluffing and genuinely goes wherever Bronny ends up, he could be a difference maker on a lot of good teams that have no cap, assuming that he goes cheaply. A team like the Suns who have no cap space might see it as worthy risk. What about the T wolves? Even Mavs who clearly need a 3rd option.

Problem would be if he starts to say, Oh I'll go there, but you need to do a sign and trade for me to the point the team then has to start moving guys who may be better as a group than he is as one.

Either way though i think its a bluff. Its fascinating though.

Jack white averaged 4ppg in his best season of college ball. (under 3 for his career)

Heaps of good NBA players did nothing in their Freshman college seasons.

I don't disagree that he appears unready for the NBA, but there's a lot more than just stats.

The Lakers will draft Bronny first round,

Bron will then re-sign.

Lakers know it will be a shit show, but it's a shit show that will make money for them.

Good luck to whatever sacrificial lamb takes on the coaching job.

Life long Lakers fan and huge fan of LeBron even before he came to the Lakeshow ( may sound a little biased )

Bronny had a terrible health scare last year and would've been hard to give it your all ( who on this forum has come off a knee recon and played the same in your first 12 months? ) he has a nice shot, can get team mates involved and his on ball defence is above average. Will be interesting when he gets caught in the pick n roll in the NBA but some players thrive off NBA rules.

I think a big reason LA went so hard for the UConn Coach was all for Bronnys development. I think we all need to chill on the expectation of Bronny and just enjoy his opening chapter. What a story it would be to play with your son in a professional sport. My lad is u/16 at the moment and I’m hanging for him to play social in my men’s team.
