Just noticed in both the boys and the girls
There is 1 pool each that has 5 teams, making it a 25 team comp

Anyone know why?

Gameday app is horrible to use in comparison to PlayHQ, slow to update especially if using the web browser.
As of this morning there was no access to current pools on the app, only the first group stages. Not great.

Thanks KD35.

I wasn't expecting just 2 VIC teams for the boys.

Knox very unlucky, went 2-1 but missed on H2H by just a few points.
Very loaded pool too, Sth Adelaide, Gold Coast & Perry Lakes all should be top 12 but 2 had to fall.
Camberwell ran into a very good North Bears team + Canberra who have a 6'9 five man!!

And the last quarter of the Bendigo v Bulleen girls quarter final was something very special. Big shots made under big pressure and against good defense.

The Vic teams have looked great in the girls, the interstate teams have struggled to match them either end.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but instead of sending multiple teams to U20 Nationals, Vics (metro at least) should be able to send 2 teams to U16 Nationals. So many of these girls who are killing it will never be good enough to crack a Vic Metro State team, but would walk into any other State team, at least in 16's.

totally agree Bluey - U20s have allowed 2 teams from strong states

Although the vic girls are dominating, the players are actually split very nicely between metro and country.

Aslong as teams have 11-12, no need for a 2nd metro team.

Sorry, Gameday is awful, PlayHQ (MyHoops) is vastly superior.

No results update since 10pm last night. I need to know match ups and timing to plan a visit to the stadium tomorrow.

Can anyone update any of the results from today and possibly advise tomorrow's matchups?

100% phizzer!

For the gold,
Girls at 12pm Casey vs Kilsyth
Boys at 1.30pm Casey vs Norths Bears

Bronze;
Girls = Frankston vs Bulleen
Boys = Keilor vs Norwood

Thanks mate, you're a legend. Imagine in MyHoops watching the play by play in real time instead of getting a box score 5 hours after the game finished....

Wow, home court advantage! Casey boys were always going to win this thing, but I'm not sure many would have picked the girls to be playing for gold. Kilsyth favourites and should win.

Keilor boys possibly unlucky they had to go through Casey and not Norwood/Norths.

And well done to Norwood boys, I think most would have predicted South to make top 4.

Nice work Bulleen and Frankston girls to make top 4 too.

So the question for the coaches familiar with Vic Metro basketball.

Has Casey benefitted from hosting the u14 Club championships. ie are playing moving to Casey at u12/13/14 level because they know they will get an automatic qualification to the National Championships?

I know in other states that there is generally quite a bit of movement at this age group to ensure Parents (I mean players) qualify for the Nationals (qualification spots being more limited in other states).

Not sure how Sturt girls managed to get into Nationals at all and the proof is in the pudding with them finishing 24th. 2 girls who score a lot of points and only one of them has any game sense. Not sure why the coach is allowing them to play that way. Southern cross players in there who haven't developed at all. Bit embarrassing for Sturt. Casey girls looking good. Lots of VIC talent in both country and metro. U16s Nationals should be a good comp next year.

DoGooderBaller - they earned the right to be there - 7 other teams stayed home - so it's a good effort overall.

yes they did @+. good fun week despite the results no doubt. all SA teams landed where they belonged IMO. a couple of teams who stayed home might have come ahead of 24th but they didnt earn the right to give it a go so pure speculation.

well done to Kilsyth. Vic definitely the powerhouse again in girls comp.

Sorry but cannot agree with holding the Shield OFFER TO TEAMS 13 TO 16.

They have 12 teams above them and teams 5-12 in Championship Division finish better.

When the team who wins the Shield section arrives home they are treated as achieving a great resultby bringing home a trophy.

NSW teams apart from Norths have not done so well.

Penrith boys overachieved and finished 10th.

Penrith Girls who finished 2nd in JPL underachieved and were probably too reliant on 4 players to do majority of work.

The rest of NSW teams finished down the list.

What do BNSW do to improve their programs especially in the Country area as overall their results in the BNSW Premier League it not great.Only Coffs Harbour who finished 2nd and Newcastle 3rd/4th achieved.

Results have been so slow going up BA need to improve their system. Here it is saturday morning and still no results showing on the website.

@retired....mate you need to give BA a break. They've been at a tournament literally all week...yesterday was a public holiday here in Vic and now its the weekend. I'm sure there will be a write up on the week that was on monday morning.

@Massive....I didn't reaslise that Vic lost being a powerhouse in the girls comp? They've always fielded stupid strong teams in all national tournaments?

retired - maybe they should call the shield cross over play "division 2"

in the structure 13-24 teams fill "division 2".

Anyone that knows what goes on is aware the Shield is 13-24 or thereabouts.

And clubs are entitled to celebrate this - I understand what you are saying about the fanfare surrounding this achievement.

@retired....as I said the staff at Casey look to have been burning the wick at both ends this week. I'm sure the results will be up sooner rather than later.

As for BA no one works weekends do you or did you crank out 7 days of work straight? Cmon on give them a break. I'm sure when they get back next week they'll review everything and make changes for next year.

The U14 Nationals was a mess from before it even started. 25 teams due to BA incompetence.

Fixture/Results no information, pools set up wrong, results not uploaded. These are not faults of the system they're human error.

BA forcing people to pay to watch games online in poor quality, days after BV provided a better quality product for free.

The sport continues to be let down by its leadership and we all just accept it because they looked tired and they chose to run an event on a public holiday. Give me a break.

For this competition I think they should reduce the number of teams back to 12 or 16.Why have so many.

Make for the best number of teams to earn their spots.
