Jacks @ Bullets - Sat 26th Oct - 8pm AEDT

Brisbane is a Dollar Store version, of an Aldi version, of the Jackjumpers.

Contender for shittiest game of the season. Jacks by 10.

I get the feeling the door will be open for any player who wants to to single handedly get their team across the line.

JJs could lose four in a row if they lose tonight, I just don't see it, good old Brisbane will compete but JJs thankful they got bullets. JJs in a reasonable close one by eight.

"good old Brisbane will compete" seemed like a reasonable prediction at the time.
3 minutes into the 2nd and they've now got a double digit total so that's something I suppose.

Hopefully they can compete soon, they have so many average players including their imports.

1. Stating the obvious, the Anon Brisbane ownership group need to get their hands in their fucking pockets and invest in the playing group. What they are serving to Brisbane supporters is deplorable. We still have no idea who is actually signing players btw.

2. Schueller can't coach, D-Mac is not a lead assistant. We all fell in love with the "he’s from the Vickerman tree, he must be good!" narrative, but that’s been proven false. Despite the talent failings - has showed he can’t motivate a group, and I haven’t seen anything technical-wise (offensive / defensive sets) that’s made me think he should be kept around. If this was any other team, he’d be out the door by now.

Agree Dunkman, that is what was expected from Sword all along and now he looks like he has finally figured it out. Like Sean MacDonald, he hardly ever misses 3 pointers during warmup so strange he hasn't been given a licence to put some up until tonight. Didn’t look like someone who has been told his time is up either. So, maybe the roster upgrade is a local as speculated if indeed Olgun was right about the JJs making a change.

Who are the Bullets spending their money on? No established local and imports are average at best. Previous years they splurged on Sobey and Baynes, would say Hawks definitely spending more, perhaps Cairns as well.
Are they saving it for future warchest and just see how Schueller fares despite him being the one to show Sobey and Baynes the door? Just looks like another wasted season.

Bullets fown and out and came back hard against reigning ship team give JS credit. Agree nor pretty technical classical game but fair entertainmen. Tight to end.. Norton showing his class and smarts. Definitely intriguing game to analyse

Asa JJ supporter not sure what to take out of that win. JJs should not have given up a 19 point lead but showed grit to get the w.

Sword definitely value adds but the Jacckjumpers lack scoring punch and have to work really hard for wins....which is in their dna.

Have not read Ulguns murmurings on them bringing in another player, he is usually reliable / close to sources. Do not know of what players are available - knowing Roth it could be a moneyball scenario.

JJs would take a fair bit out of that, dominant for the the first 15 minutes and a good last quarter to respond which they haven't done well lately.

They won those 25 minutes 61-33 which is dominance at both ends, but their lapses are a major issue, and reflect to a degree the lack of a PG without McDonald and also the lack of another shot-maker without McVeigh.

If you're not running good shots and don't have the players to bail out bad offence it's a bad combo! Take those horror patches out, or at least shorten them, and Tassie are still a quality team.

Brisbane seem to have patches in each game where their energy allows them to go on runs, but their nuts and bolts stuff when the other team is matching their energy just isn't good enough. Need to organise how they set up offensively so their scorers end up with the ball after movement.

JJs look to have a very winnable home game schedule for the remainder of the season. If they can win in a high proportion of those and pick up another away win or two, they can still get in the region of 14 or 15 wins. Deng and MacDonald will be the keys as to whether or not they can get that consistent extra offensive punch outside of their superstars with their current roster. Deng starting to look really good. Interesting also that Gak seems to be gaining Roth's trust and confidence.

Was talk of Brisbane bringing in Emmett Narr as a Sam replacement player.

they seem to spend the first half of games (bullets) remembering how to play and then spark back into life late in games. Not sure where the money went but things don't look promising for JS the offence seems to stutter at times, they turn the ball over at a high rate early in games, and a lot of pick off passes from inbounds after scores (simple things) and not being able to find a use for a 7'4 next star seems crazy

I heard Gak was dealing with an injury early on. He's an important piece for them because without him they lack defensive presence when Magnay rests or gets foul trouble.

Very interesting interview with Scott Roth on SEN this morning. Sean MacDonald maybe back in just 2 to 3 weeks. Did not a rule out a roster change. Said JJs are always monitoring if they can improve their roster. Still not sure it is an import change though that might happen from what he was saying. The most bewildering thing he said was that at the time Sword was signed they were expecting to lose Magnay to the NBA and they had someone else they were going to go after. So, a high level local 4/5 at least on Magnay's money which he said was significant. Must be one hell of a player if that was a better option than keeping Marcus Lee. I wonder whether that same player is the one still being looked at now.
