Bullets @ Jacks - Nov 15

Bullets suck. Jacks by 12.

In case anyone missed the 'news' - an investment group, headed by George Gervin, bought a 10% stake of the Bullets a few days ago. The lengthy media release is somewhat interesting for all the bullshit contained within and essentially reads as "with Brisbane hosting the Olympics in 2032, we’re looking to invest now to reap the rewards later". No light signalled on the horizon for long suffering Brisbaneites though.

Think Steindel said yesterday both Magnay and MacDonald would be close to playing. Must be a game day decision with Mags seeing no announcement either way as yet.

Herald Sun reporting JLA has left his CBA team and back in Melbourne but not in talks with JJs.

Brisbane no chance, JJs just starting to roll, just hope for a decent game though I think JJs could get this very easily. JJs by 15 plus.

KL - JLA back to United and they punt Lee. Reasonable or neh? Or could they just get him back on the roster by dropping a low end player?

Off-topic, but let's be honest nobody cares about this game ;)

I think it was Hooley who said on Overtime the other night that JLA won't be playing in the NBL this season and he's going to get another contract overseas.

I think it was the Herald Sun article that said several NBL clubs were reaching out to JLA but no mention of United and not JJs. Must be some whispers going around but United would be in the same bind now as most clubs in that their import contracts would be guaranteed and that money burned for any import they now cut. Then they need to stump up the money JLA on top of that. But having said that United have 2 imports and 2 marquees so they could just cop the luxury tax on JLA and cut a local. Media always seems to proceed on the premise that a player will go overseas where there is the most money to be had but JLA has just been there and done that. Maybe he wants to be back home with family. Time is ripe for NBL roster changes over the FIBA break so who knows.

Very nice start from the bullets, Prather still very good. Harrison as well. Terangi would have to have the worst minus in the league and Roth keeps starting him.

To have sucked hard for countless seasons, Te Rangi would have to be the most fortunate player in NBL history in that he keeps getting gig after gig no matter what.

Bullets not getting hammered yet. MacDonald and Doyle real good for JJs. Drimic useful as well. Brisbane got a few players well overrated on their reputation. There bench really needs strengthening. Nice to see Naar back, did a few nice things.

MacDonald has been very, very good. Cook and Bateman are g league players, it's ok when the shots drop but in the nbl teams play D. Deng Adel is just not very good, his preseason must have pure luck. Scheuler at times has me just shaking my head on his subs.

Brisbane's offensive sets are horrendous. So basic, everyone on court knows where the ball is going and the defence can play accordingly.

Bullets made a game of it, JJs just got more talent and better bench. Doyle unbelievable, Deng, Drimic and MacDonald also doing good. Brisbane will be regretting those missed free throws. Not certain what Bannen was doing on the last play, not getting it to his point guard was not smart. Norton, Harrison and Prather there best. Fouls hurt them because they got over play there starters. Good game overall which wasn't what most thought.

Having average imports whilst spending money on guys like Sobey and Baynes could be viewed as an excuse, but it looks like even Cairns has a bigger budget ATM.
This investment group just bought a lemon.

Tough game, Bullets will be disappointed not to have won that one. They shot very well especially at the end of the shot clock. Harrison and Bannon had solid games inside but the Bullets did not mix it up enough.

Doyle is all class, MacDonald is a tough hombre great to have him back.

Actually thought the Bullets through the kitchen sink and more at the JJs and were terrific. JJs looked so much more like last year and I think can go on with it now. No secret that Seany Mac being back took the load off Doyle and opened up the floor for him to score. Can't be understated how much the JJs have missed Seany Mac. It was unbelievable how good he was first game back. Doubtless he will soon be the JJs starting point guard for years to come. Doyle is just a superstar. Had to knock down all those big shots by himself without McVeigh there to help. Majok stood tall too and JC just does JC things. Great game both teams.

I failed to mention Mags as well. Is a big part of the heart and soul of JJs and played amazing too. Great to see Drmic knocking them down. Another very important piece.

First time I've seen Brisbane live this season, was pretty impressed by them. Played hard as a team, lots of contributors, moved the ball well, were unselfish. Couldn't make free throws though.

I thought Schueller's plan was good, but he didn't find a solution when the JJs got hot and Brissy needed to adjust how they were defending action at the top of the key.
