Sydney @ Cairns

Galloway out for Cairns continuing the injury run, but everyone else should be available.

First game against the Snakes for ex-players Oliver and Kuol. Hoping the break has helped Cairns and we can at least keep it competitive, going to need big efforts from Groves and Waardenburg to try and limit Oliver, Cookes et al.

Pedro Bradshaw also still out for Taipans unfortunately. Missing his game, he does some of everything.

Kings by 15, should be firing on all cylinders after the break.

His offence isn't too bad though

Offence is fantastic but against better teams with smarter coaches he'll be found out.

Kings getting absolutely hammered on the glass. 42-41 to taipans. Good game, kings just not as good as everyone thought, to many average defenders. If Edward's could make a bucket Cairns would be well in front. Cooks and Oliver just don’t seem a good five, four combination.

Okay, let's see how consistent the NBL is in penalising the little 'disagreement’ which just happened.

Leafa flopping as good as there is. Noi playing tough guy. Bit feeling happening here. Kings by four at 3/4. No way kings are favourites to win title now. Edward's start making a bucket, taipans could win tonight. Cooks while still a good player is robbing the kings if he’s on his reported million bucks.

Both sides got some very average players in talent and iq. Kings smashed on the glass. Armstrong got talent but overplays his hand at times. Kings scrapped a win but can't see him winning it.

Maybe the NBL should introduce some type of player retention scheme for the snakes. Just doesn't seem right that Forde keeps finding gems only for the rich clubs to then prise them away with more money. Having said that hope the JJs can bring Armstrong home one day.

From a selfish perspective let him toil away until the bat signal to return home is shone.

How long is Forde contracted? My favourite coach in the league but do wonder if management are starting to ponder the idea of moving on from him.

Like Brisbane, Forde is relying on too few for results, partly his problem because bringing Adnam, Taylor, even Dufelmeir seems very strange, certainly when Waardenburg always seems to get injuries.

I would be very surprised if they are thinking of moving Forde on.

Injuries to key players are a big reason for the Taipans struggles. I thought they were a lot better last night but still had Bradshaw and Galloway out.

Adnam was brought in as an old head and 11th man. Dufelmeir was training with the Taipans already when players started going down. Taylor was available and presumably cheap. Although not a like for like replacement for Bradshaw, Forde deemed him a reasonable fit as he could cover a few positions.

I don't think any of these decisions have had much bearing on the Taipans overall performance particularly when you take into account money would have been a big factor.

Leafa is a little thug. He was baiting Edwards earlier in the game. Granted Edwards should control homsrlf
