Only a few days left, what other trades do people think (hope) will happen for the teams they follow.

As a Hawks man I do wonder if Capela and Bogdanovic will be moved for younger players/draft assets.

I like it. Collins had clearly slipped behind CBass and maybe even Mamu and Fox is clearly an upgrade on Tre. Checked out McLaughlin via his wiki page and some clown has him wearing the 3 jersey for Spurs!!

Huge.

Spurs can genuinely contend next year.

They could even make the playoffs this season, which would give them valuable experience.

Great deal for Spurs to get an All-Star(ish) PG without giving up any of its good young players.

Bulls finally look like they'll try to tank instead of being a play in team AGAIN. Getting their own 1st round pick back means they can just lean fully into trying not to win.

Kings do well out of this to get an All Star level player and a bunch of picks but really what are they doing?

So yesterday was the first time 2 All-NBA players got traded mid-season

Now today, is this the first time 2 players play together and both are All-Stars, and then are re-united at a new team shortly after but not in the same deal?

Derozan and Lavine were both All-Stars in 21-22 for the Bulls. Now they're teammates in Sactown.

Would it be fair to say that DeRozan seems to be pulling the strings in Sactown? They went into a funk earlier this season and he was said to be unhappy. Then they sacked Brown and I recall some saying it was DeRozan who pushed for him to be fired. Now Fox is being moved on for one of DeRozan's old team-mates? I just get the vibe that DeRozan is calling the shots and that would concern me if I were a Kings fan. Sure he's been a great player, but he's not going to be around much longer. Why would you bend over backwards to do his bidding?

Maybe depending on exactly how you frame it. Just off the top of my head Westbrook and Harden both played together in OKC and then ended up in Houston, but Harden wasn't an all star prior to Houston.

i feel like there may be other instances.

Oh Dwyane Wade ending up in Cleveland?

The supermax thing is clearly working against its intention. Instead of encouraging teams to go above and beyond for drafted young talent, they're panicking ahead of having to overpay and offloading. Doncic and Fox moved ahead of supermax deals, and within 24 hours of each other.

As a Spurs fan I'm honestly annoyed at the genuine stupidity of the Mavericks to just give the Lakers another generational player at like 25.

They were meant to finally go through post-Lebron pain and not have a star for atleast a solid 5 years or so.

As a Spurs fan I’m also laughing at this Kings deal. It feels like the Kings bailed the Bulls out and accepted a low ball Spurs offer.

The fact the Spurs were able to keep Devin, Keldon, Castle, Sohan plus their pick this year plus Atlantas pick this year plus their pick next year is incredible.

Yeah KET, it feels like we're headed back to the 00's with generational stars at Spurs and Lakers again

I don't think this is bias on my part at all, but if I'm choosing 1 of them for the next 10 years (or even the next 5 years) it's Wemby 100%

Of course, right now OKC are significantly better than either- and SGA another superstar plus a Wemby-lite in Chet Holmgren, some great battles incoming over next few years

Yeah I think OKC and LA are going to be the scary opposition for the Spurs, it's especially hard to see OKC drop with the ridiculous position they’re in

The good thing for spurs is they have a lot of draft capital so can make a deal in next year or so for an all star. But should they have tanked again this year in the hope of getting Flagg, or as consolation Bailey or Harper? And with Johnson out for season that Hawks pick looks lottery bound so even if they get unlucky in lottery they could move up for one of the latter two. Then the timeline wive Victor is closer. Fox is only 28, but assuming Wemby does develop even more, could be in his early 30s and speed is his main weapon. Still a great pickup for basically nothing, just remembering how LeBron had to get sidekicks like Larry Hughes because they got too good too early. OKC had the SGA piece, but still were patient until finally got Chet to go along with other good draft picks.
So Sacramento are now basically Chicago out West, plus Sabonis. Think they did best of bad situation, especially getting those picks to restock cupboard. Doubt Derozan had too much say apart from seeing if he could fit with Lavine again, if it goes south expect Sabonis to want out.
Bulls just tearing it down, Vucevic for sale, would be pretty cheap in this fire sale. Don't know what they'll do with Giddey, if he gets a reasonable offer they'll probably match it just in case he can be packaged later.
And last real piece out there, Jimmy. Would Riley pull the rug out and just keep him home. Only net's have the room to sign him in offseason but that won't happen. So would he opts in and Riley just do the same. Jimmy will get a free $100 million for nothing, but his market value would be even lower after sitting out for nearly two years. Houston did it with Wall, can see this being a totally Riley, don't mess with me move. Would be karma for what Jimmy's done in the past.
