Western Conference Finals: Thunder vs Wolves

First blood to OKC, 88-114 at home, running away with it in a 40-70 second half. Thunder bench was deeper and more effective.

Wolves three main bench guys in Reid, DDV and NAW went 7/36 from the field. Really, none of the Wolves would've been happy with their output.

Any tips for the series result?

As a lifelong Nuggets supporter, I hope that somehow both teams lose...I however don't see OKC losing this unfortunately.

OKC Depth is incredible and thats after they start with the MVP and two other young all-star level guys and a couple of elite role players.

Caruso, Wiggins, Wallace, J-Will, Kenrich Williams, Isiah Joe are all guys good enough to be in most playoff team's 7-8 man playoff rotation and they barely get in some games.

Wolves got away with a lot of loose turnovers against the Warriors but the Thunder will punish them.

Can't see the series going longer than 6. I think OKC in 5 with Minny winning game 4 before OKC finish it in 5.

OKC makes it 2-0. SGA just unstoppable and with J-Dub also having a big one and Chet also having a game there was just too many weapons. Wallace looked really good too and Hartenstien, Caruso and Dort all did their job.

Minny again just giving the ball up way too often and Ant being good but not great, and Randle having a shocker its amazing they kept it as close as they did.

Still think this is going to a gentlemans sweep.

I had thought 4-2, but you might be right. Too many disastrous stretches.

Super impressive beat down by the Wolves. As weird as it sounds though, this doesn't really change my feeling on the series (other than which game the wolves win).

I feel this was as much of a "foot off the throttle" game by the Thunder as it was about the Wolves stepping up their D (which they did) and finally make some shots.

I think the Thunder will come back strong in game 4 and then close out in 5. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Thunder wrap it up in 5 in emphatic style.

Their top end talent is obviously top shelf but every one of their role players comes in and knows their role and does it well. They are legit 11 deep with playoff rotation guys and play different guys depending on match ups and style. Someone like Kenrich Williams can be a DNP-CD for 3 games and then come out and win his team a quarter.

Kinda looking forward to a Thunder-Pacers series, though I know we're not there yet. Both teams get after it defensively and push the tempo on offense. The Thunder's weak point on D is giving up corner threes and the Pacers do have the guys who can make those shots.

side note: I think its a very real possibility that Joe Ingles has played his last NBA game. He only played 112 total minutes this season and none in the playoffs. This was the first season of his career his value over replacement player has dipped below zero.

There were people here suggesting he was done when Utah traded him 3 years ago, but I think father time has finally caught up.

Been a hell of a career from Joe if this is the end. Not sure if he bothers playing NBL when he gets back. Might do it for the funs but i think if he hangs his boots up completely nobody could blame him.

Forever a legend.

The Thunder home games in this series weren't overly competitive with margins of 26, 15, 30.

Credit to the Wolves for making the WCF again, but not really a strong showing beyond that. Conley averaged 4.4 PPG as a starter, Gobert 5.8 PPG. Edwards had 3/5 games under 20 points. Three games where his numbers from outside were 1/7, 1/7 and 1/9. Too often looked like a roleplayer.

At almost any point, OKC looked more confident and balanced. Minnesota could barely draw level before the Thunder responded and starting pushing out the lead.

Is this the end of the NBA road for Joe Ingles?
