Junior classic and Nunawading - referees?

I'm curious as to how referees are sourced for the junior classics and the nunawading tournament.
I’ve seen the advertising from nunawading in their search for refs.
Does Basketball Victoria source from their Victorian referees? Or do they ask clubs to bring referees over with them?

There’s a nice number of South Australian teams going over which is fantastic to see.

You pretty much get selected/invited to referee at the classic (similar to AJC). Nunawading as it isn't an elite tournament advertise for expressions of interest.

Yup as Sebastian has already said. High graded refs usually get an invite from BV to ref at the Classic...while the nunawading tournament open it up for expressions of intrest having said that you need to be a striped ref in order to ref at tournaments backed by BV...so you can't be a green shirt ref.

I think perhaps this is not quite right.

For the Classics, in recent years BV have only invited Vic ref's. Prior to that they would have the best & most promising junior ref's from WA, SA and NSW I think

So it's not quite like Nationals as it's now solely used to develop VIC officials

Personally I think if other states clubs are winning a spot then the state should get a spot for Ref's.

Last month

It is a Basketball Victoria elite event which invites interstate teams. It's a pathway event for Victorian referees. The problem with most states, (especially SA and WA) their referees are not up to the level required
