I would've preferred he stay with the JJ's but at least he's staying in the NBL. After next season should be able to naturalise too.

Yeah - would have liked him to stay as a Jackjumper and agree it is good to have him still in the NBL.
JJs will have to nail the last import spot.

Assume MU just offered $$ he couldn't refuse like with Delly. That the JJs were in the hunt for this long suggests their offer was also significant. Darren Smith has said the JJs regardless of whether it’s Doyle or someone else will have an exciting signing. Assume they have the $$ to go after a proven NBL replacement but they may take another high level G League player or go back to the well in Europe. Time will tell.
Have always thought it was intriguing that none of Doyle, Trey Kell or Jaylen Adam’s had signed. Maybe this is the first card to fall.

Great signing by United, won't have to carry excessive offensive load like last season, plays great D and team first. JJs still looking very, very good but he’s a big loss imo. Money was probably the swinger which is understandable at his age.

Will be looking forward to seeing which way the JJs go with his replacement.
Personally would love a John Collins (Atlanta Hawks) prototype who can rebound and score.

Was wondering if United were looking at Trey Kell, but here you go.
Melbourne JJ's we could call them.
I'm hoping Doyle reverses his slide, because after a steller first season, he's declined a little each year and last season wasn't at the level you'd hope for from a #1 import.

Great addition for United. Will take the scoring pressure off the 37 year old CG43 who can become more of an impact scorer. Doyle seemed to be over-worked last season with the JJ's and should enjoy the better spacing offered at United.
Looks like Vickerman will go with 3 imports (with the Delly/White/Clark salaries off the table) they've got much better flexibility.
Thinking import defensive centre and a pass first point who can also shoot will provide a much better lineup. While the White to Delaney move appears a downgrade, I think Flynn offers a better look with much better scoring. Liking this potential lineup much more than last season:
C: (I) Fred Gillespie type / Krislovic
PF: Delaney / Bowen
SF: (I) Doyle / Krebs
SG: Goulding / Daniels (NS)
PG: (I) Walton Jr type / Ili / Wilson

Interesting interview with Milton he pretty much implies he was held back at the JJ's by their system and is relishing that chance to get out in the open floor with Melb Utd.

I think it was pretty obvious last season that it wasn't very enjoyable for him and was a hard slog especially with MacDonald and Magnay out injured a lot. There was also no help from McVeigh or a 3rd import and it was largely all on him and Crawford with heavy D directed his way. All well and good in hindsight but if the JJs had properly replaced McVeigh early on it may have been different.
Probably would have had the extra help with this 2026 roster but understandable he wanted a fresh start in a different system. At least he didn’t land at the Kings.
