Has Knox withdrawn all of its teams from the Nunawading tournament? Why?

Sad, but true.

Also not the first local junior Tournament they've done this at. Might be time to just not bother taking their nominations.

Nothing new. It's over the club not being reimbursed the cost of wages for running venues.

Why would Knox have staff working at the tournament? I thought the parents from Spectres run it and then they have one paid staff member at each venue?

Anon that has nothing to do with it. Knox wanted to play 12 players, rules are only 10. So Knox pulled out all their teams.

Why you would everwant to run 12 kids in a team at a junior tournament other than at a nationals event (i.e. like the Classic or U14 Club Champs) is beyond me. Not enough court time, and a big investment of time and cost for families.

12 players for a tournament????
That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Honestly, once you're below Met 1 or Met 2, should only be 8 kids per team. There's just not enough court time to go around and 9/10 on the bench don't develop anywhere near as much as if they were starting in the next team down.

Of course, associations would never go for it because that's going to be a lot less of the expensive vjbl annual fees coming in

100% sonic - even 7 per team - let them play

Yep. 10 is totally for revenue. The only good thing is for 5 on 5 at training but getting 10 to training...like ever...is laughable.
Suggestion of 7 is too low as one long-term injury and you are screwed. 8 is the perfect number and 9 would be perfect if there was an understanding if you had 9 that a player would sit out. Hopefully this would even out through the season with injuries and everyone getting a break....and yes, resting your gun player against the dud team!!!

So, if the above is correct, Knox refused to let their teams play because Nunawading would not let them have 12 in a team? A pox on both their houses. Only loses there are kids not being able to play the tournament.
