Can confirm Asia Cup does not determine World Cup qualification.
Have been curious about whether Mojave King would play for NZ, and whether he would qualify as a single naturalised player on the roster (the spot usually held by an American, which was the spot Isaac Fotu held for the TB's due to some visa issues that occurred for him early in life).
Mojave fills two gaps in NZ's current roster - speed/athleticism in the wing (ala Abercrombie) and isolation scoring (ala Corey Webster). NZ has had to over-rely on Reuben Te Rangi and Jordan Ngatai on the wings, where Mojave King has the peak talent level to pair up with the young guards and bigs that are coming through NCAA.
Based on the current roster, I would expect:
Smith-Milner / Gold / Andrew
Darling / Davison
King / Ngatai (6th man)
Cameron / Murray
Britt / Russo-Nance / Jones (wildcard)
Very curious to see how Murray and Russo-Nance's performances - given both have taken very different paths since COVID/high school. Both will be integral to the TB's future. While Hunt, Yates and Jones are gearing for one spot, we would be best served with another multi-positional guard, and Jones can shift between 1-3 easily.
