Mid-season poll - none tip Adelaide

Adelaide has received no votes for the 2006 Philips Championship in a mid-season coaches poll. Tigers were the strong favourites followed by Sydney, Wollongong, Perth and Townsville (last 3 all tied).

Overall, the coaches expect Adelaide to finish the regular season in third place, just ahead of the Hawks.

Anstey was tipped as MVP ahead of Bruton, Groves, Helms and Maher (1 vote).

Westover was tipped as Coach of the Year (I'd go with Goorjian, for sure - less talent, better results!).

Oscar Forman is tied with Luke Kendall for the Best Sixth Man vote, ahead of some decent opposition (Barlow, Caporn, Redhage, Stiff), and Worthington is easily the ROTY favourite.

None voted Dusty Rychart as the best import, but a couple picked Willie Farley. Larry Abney was the favourite.

3/11 coaches wanted Maher taking a potential game-winner, but 4 picked Jason Smith.

I question the integrity of this survey or the smarts of the coaches when I see S Fisher receiving one vote for being best coach in the league!

How does Brad Newley not get voted for the boomers but voted as the next player to get drafted in the NBA. Goorgian must have voted 4 times as thats how many votes Mark Worthington got for the boomers.

Anyone notice that Cortez Groves was 3rd favourite in the MVP voting, but only 10th for the All-NBL first team?
Also, Vanderjagt recieved 1 vote for most improved - he increased his averages of 2 and 2 last year to a whopping...4 and 2 this year.
Mark Worthington has been put ahead of(insert the name of almost any Australian player)for the Boomers team.
And, apparently Nick Horvath will have a big impact in the second half of the season. Hmmm.....

Newley not in the Boomers. Since when? Sorry - been busy with kids and must've missed something.

Then again, he doesn't play for the Kings .....

Townsville tipped for the Championship? Now that says a lot for the integrity of this poll.

Not a ad thing that everyone is underrating the Sixers. They do best when they are rank outsiders (like in 2001).
