I've picked the Sixers by 8 on NBL tipping. I actually think they can do it and it makes life that little bit easier with Tucker out and Mottram playing with an injury. Hopefully Coops can minimise Anstey's impact.

As long as Rychart and Farley show up we should do well. The main thing will be whether we can D them up well or not.

Thomas has a good record against Farley unfortunately so as much as I want him to bust loose with a great game I don't think it will be this week.

Hopefully the crowd might be on our side after Nash's stint in the off season, if it makes any difference.

Until they start to play as a team they will continue to lose. People can keep pointing the finger at individual players but for someone to score 14 points in one quater and only shoot the ball one time in the second quarter his team mates were not looking for him in the second quarter or the rest of the game.

What's up with Cooper? Last 9 games: 2,1,3,3,9,5,2,4,0. From round 14-16, 1 block in 5 games. Not getting a tonne of minutes, and it's not always foul trouble that's causing it.

I didnt see or hear the game.. but i would say a big part of our problem is our serious lack of production at the center position. We dont need a player who can score 15ppg + we just need someone who can consistently grab 7-9 boards and a couple of blocked shots. Cooper and Rees are not giving us that. Rees is lucky to grab 2 boards a game - and cooper has been invisible.

Even if you dont count Anstey as a center - we got outdone by 31 points and 11 rebounds in the center position. It will require a perfect game from everyone else to overcome this.

If we could get Stiff back, that would be perfect. Hes the type of player we really need at the moment. Rees used to be able to fill the role, but he is way past it now - nothing more than someone to come in and rough a few people up.

Don't see why we are getting pissed at Farley.

We are running an equal opportunity offence in which Farley is being way too unselfish.

He doesn't seem to be getting many good shots out of our offence.

In 2002, we did the whole equal opportunity offence but if we didn't get a good shot we got the ball to Maher or Farley every single time with 6 on the shot clock and let them create.

Farley is 6/7 in the first quarter and got one shot in the second quarter. You can criticise Farley for not being aggressive enough but at what point does this come back to Smyth? Run a few plays for the guy who has 14 in the first quarter!

Farley should be getting 20 to 25 shots a game in my opinion and needs to in order to be effective.

We need more than 15pts to 18pts out of Farley.

It reminds me of watching Iverson play at the Olympics. Every game you just knew Iverson could score 50 against each of the teams he played against but was playing Larry Brown, distribute the ball basketball.

Works a treat if you have John Stockton at the point but a waste of talent watching Iverson score say 12 points against Lithuania.
