Kings rule out Schenscher

SYDNEY Kings have ruled out signing Australia centre Luke Schenscher as replacement for injured NBL import Rolan Roberts.
The club expects to hear back from player agents in the United States late tonight as to who is available to fill the position, but coach Brian Goorjian says Schenscher, because of the timing, is not an option.
"He's been playing (for Forth Worth in the NBA development league) hoping for a call-up and that period of time (when players can be selected) starts in about a week," Goorjian said.
"So he's hoping he gets an NBA call-up . . . and they haven't been available to do that until next week, and that timing doesn't suit us. So he's out."
The Kings hope to finalise Roberts' replacement this weekend to give the new recruit enough time to clock up the seven games required before the end of the regular season to be eligible for the finals.
Roberts suffered a season-ending injury during Tuesday's slam dunk contest at the All Star game.
