That would be good. I think this happened last year and there was a total of 5 stadia used for Norwood.

Norwood is becoming a carnival for interstate teams.

Not enough local teams compete...
If they gave it more support it would be the best carnival in Australia.

"If they gave it more support it would be the best carnival in Australia."

I like your positive opinion but you're so clearly wrong there. One of the best maybe, the best not a chance.

the Bulleen tournament was never going to get off the ground.

A few Bulleen teams are going to Norwood but i would not say 'they are all coming' as was previously posted.

The question still remains...
Why travel to Adelaide when the best teams are Victorian???

Must be hard having 5 times the basketball population.
Victorians are so clever.

victoria is a great place. There is only one thing wrong with it - too many victorians.

Along with our population we have 10 times the amount of strong clubs when compared to SA. While Sturt is a stand out in Sth Australia, Vicotria lines up with Dandenong, Nunawading, Melbourne, Bulleen, Eltham, Kilsyth, Werribee, Broadmeadows to name but only a few who have all represented Victoria over the last few years at U14 Nationals in boys alone.

Population difference aside our depth is still far superior to that of Sth Aus.

Sturt is what we would view the 'most Victorian' of the Sth Australian clubs, in that they put plenty of money into developing their junior programs compared to other Sth Aus clubs.

But i agree that from what we have heard, there is far too much politics between several clubs over there in relation to the Norwood tournament.

If clubs were serious about developing their juniors then they would be entering into the Norwood tournament to compete against the Vic sides.

For some reason, whatever it is, this does not happen

that reason is cost. Most SA clubs do not have the deep money pit that sturt and vic clubs have.

The question still remains why do SA do not support the Norwood tournament like they should?

Eltham and Dandenong while strong clubs are certainly far from the most loved, yet clubs from all over Melbourne still come to get the competition!

Money is not the issue... its how much you want to be the best club!

It's at Easter. Some clubs/coaches view this as a time away from basketball for the kids and/or themselves with their entire family. For juniors, basketball, while important, can only at best rank 3rd behind family and school.

Norwood president may be the reason ( Not mentioning any names). What SA club may not support the easter event in 2007 ? How many Vic clubs will not then come over - quite a few one believes.
