There hasn't been much talk of the Lightning. What do people think of there chances this year. Don't know that much about the ins and outs but it sounds like there will be a few changes this year.

Got a roster list? Nothing on the Lightning site that I can see.
Heard a lot of the top players are leaving. No wonder with the Coaching Staff Chris Lucas with John Gillies. Not very inspiring. Plus we will be a short side so I have heard. Dean should have been appointed but I suppose the appointment was only for a year. Maybe Jan is thinking of coming back then????? You can ruin a side with in a Year but can you improve the players within a year - you would need a bigger picture surely and those two Coaches - Happy and Happier NOT will tell us how good they are themselves.

Brogan has been told (according to Boti) that she wont be required for the upcoming season.
Sporn has announced her retirement from all forms of basketball - well playing anyway.
What are the chances of Erin Phillips to become an OPAL in 2006 and 2008???

I think seeing Sporn as a Lightning coach will be a great move, and one we will see sooner than later (remembering Chris Lucas is only appointed for a year).
As far as Phillips go, as much as I think she is great (and often wonder if she is single ;) ), I think she would need to step up another level this season to be regarded as a potential Opal. The talent is there, just she probably hasn't been given the most oppurtunity possible to showcase that.

With all due respect to Rachel why would it be a great move. She has no formal coaching experience to speak of. If Chris doesn't coach for a long period logic would say Jan would come back or they would give the job to Dean which they should have done in the first place
