Congratulations to the winners - I think it was Table 26 with 134 points?

And also to my valiant team for their second placed effort (132 points), featuring forum posters Music Man and Mr Blackwell.

Good set of questions (I'd complain about there being too many motorsport related, but Music Man is the motorsport specialist), almost 300 in attendance and I might never forget the currency of Papua New Guinea again.

I do contend that their answer for I.B.M ('Intelligent Business Machines') was incorrect -- it should've been "International Business Machines" as we put. Robbed!

Wow Thomo, You really did have a lot of wine!

I thought the "Todd Gower Fan Club" Consisting of Thomo, Navy Seals - Bizzy, Bozza, Steamrolla and myself and partners Kimmy, Lisa and Caroline did very well considering we were 2 players short. Equal 5th on 122. Well done to the winners.

Also well done to the Organisers, had a great night.

Isaac, unfortunately table 26 came 3rd. That was my table I organised. I agree with IBM, we disputed that one as well. I also disputed the colour of Dusty's car. I said charcoal grey and they didn't pay it as they said it was silver. Its actually a much darker colour to silver.

Must've been Titanium Grey. The funny thing about that question was that I'd written "silver/grey Mazda 6" before they'd mention the bonus point.

Re IBM - I distinctly remember Potsie reading out the answers and saying "and it's definitely not 'International Business Machines'"!

The Paul Bauer question with that tiny statline was pretty funny.

We thought we would put the Paul Bauer question in just for a bit of fun and knowing he would have to read it out!!!!!

Thank you to everyone that attended and we hope that you all had a good night and hope we see you all again next year for a bigger and better quiz night.

I still stand by our answer that JoJo English was the last 6er player to score a triple double in an away match - even though the correct answer was no player - JoJo was a "No Player"

The NBL Media guide states that no 36er player has ever scored a triple double at an away venue

Music Man, it is Titanium Grey. Mazda 6 also comes in Silver but it is a much lighter shade. I thought my answer of Charcoal Grey would have been closer to the mark than Silver.

sorry guys about ibm

that was my question. i wonder when it went from intelligent to international. every ibm machine i have worked on has intelligent business machines on it. maybe they have international for listing reasons on the stock exchange.

somehow we cant go through a quiz night without one question getting disputed

issac i was going to use what does the abbreviated word intel stand for but i thought that might be to hard

hope everyone had a great night and comes again

auslot - for potentially one incorrect question, you did pretty well. The last quiz night I went to, they calculated the winners at the end. We had been leading for most of the night and then they announced the winners. Third? Nope. Second? No. Must be first! First? No.

Turns out that when they'd tallied the figures, they'd missed the top two teams, handed out prizes, and then realised what had happened after most people had left and we drew their attention to it. At least you didn't do THAT!
