Eagles Men Thump Wests (Girls Win too)
A sharp, fast and calculating Eagles mens side accounted for Wests this afternoon. After a tight first quarter the eagles men gradually blew out to a 30+ point lead in the 3rd & 4th quarters and at times ran their full and youthful bench, and rested some of their older and/or hard working starters.
Wests tried hard all game, Craddock especially banging a lot of points and Crothers often banging the floor (will need a lot of new floor inserts/repairs) as well as some good strong baskets. Both were ably backed up by Belly, Phillips and Pearce and others, but overall Wests lacked the constant firepower at the Eagles disposal. (Where was Ben Evans & Mark M the Asst Coach?)
Eagles utlimate winners 117 to 89 and have set the scene for a huge clash next week against Norwood at Mars.
In the Women, the Eagles also held on to win their game by 5/6 points.
