Suns vs Dallas, Game 1 - spoiler

Phoenix 121, Dallas 118.

Phoenix got off to a decent start and held the advantage until Dallas took control later in the game. After being down by around 7, the Suns pulled it back and Diaw's basket with 0.5 seconds left put them up.

Dallas called timeout before Daniels coughed it up and Thomas finished it for the Suns from the line.

At this rate it could be another great finals series. Diaw with 34 was the game high scorer. MVP Nash had 27 and 16 assists while Marion had 24 and 13 boards and Thomas 17. Nowitzki had 25 and 19 for the Mavs while Harris had 30 points and 5 steals after a couple of dodgy games against the Spurs.

Big result for the Suns up against the Mavs who are shaping as potential favourites to win the lot.

Notable injury for the Mavs is Howard going down 6 minutes in with an ankle injury, while Diop was a DNP after getting whacked in the nose in game seven of the Spurs series.

Great game - I was getting sick of hitting refresh towards the end of the game!

What about Nash's performance?

from ESPN.com:
"The Mavs seemed in control, leading 114-105 with 3:43 left, when Nash began playing like the league's two-time MVP. He scored 10 straight points, then fed Shawn Marion on a go-ahead dunk with 43 seconds left."

Man, you would feel bad after being up by nine with under 4 mins to play and then to lose!

How much control/influence does Cuban have on the NBA - despite plenty of articles, boxscores and the like showing a Suns win.

Somehow Cuban has managed to get the NBA to give his boys the Mavs the win.

That's funny because if you read Cuban's website, he talks about how the title graphic for the playoffs promo on TNT's site (as in the TV network/channel) showed players from 4 finalist clubs - except for the fact that there was a Spur in there and not a Mav! Looks like it goes both ways.

At best Phoenix in six if they keep playing the way they are. Shawn Marion is back in form, a telling sign that the Mavs days i feel are numbered for this season.
