Yeah that was bad. That makes four football-related ACL injuries that I know of from the weekend. Shocking.

Actually it was a dislocation

The kid plays for Salisbury FC
and Centrals when they select him.

A dislocated kneecap, but some body told someone that he would have to have his leg cut off at the knee and it just went rumour crazy after that.

A dislocation? So why is he out of the game for 18 months?

I will find out at training tonight and let you know tomorrow what the real story is.

It is Steve Eichner, from the Port Adelaide Magpies.

Initial diagnosis was an 8 week dislocation, but was later found to have actually badly shredded both ligs requiring full reco, and 18 months out.

Its a real shame for the kid as he has been in top form. The magpies are going to really miss his strong running from the back lines.

Sorry Jimmy de Bas. Port Magpies not Centrals,

Salisbury has kids out of both
teams,

Steve has done the Anterior and Posterior ligaments as well as the dislocated kneecap.

That is the reason for 18 months of course.
