Allstar CABL Team

Was just reading on OzHoops that they are compairing Allstar Teams from around each league.

So who would make our team..........

My Thoughts Based On this Season

PG - Hill 6ft3 / Zorich 6ft3
SG - Ng 6ft2 / Scanlon 6ft2 / Sutton 6ft3
SF - Holmes 6ft7 / Forman 6ft8
PF - Dix 6ft8 / Hambour 6ft6 / Smylie 6ft6
C - Bungy 6ft10/Cooper 6ft10

I know there are going to be various combination and would love to see who thinks what. As I said, I'm going on this season only.

They would get pumped by an allstar team from another state!

Big V would put forward some big names.

The CABL group wouldn't totally embarrass themselves if the other leagues were forbidden imports - two NBL bench guards, an NBL starter and sixth man at SF, Dix is around that pace and Cooper is an NBL centre too.

Maybe Madgen over Sutton?

If you wanted some experience you could take Reggie. Technically Brett Maher too.

In the Women's I would go for.
PG - Lindsay / Lorenzini
SG - Hurst / Nixon
SF - Hill / M. Bowley
PF - Woosnam / Coughlan
C - Beatty / Newbold
Just my thoughts! There are others that could be there but I think it is balanced enough to get the job done. As with most of these players you can play them in different positions.

Hill closer to 6' 6" and Madgen having a great season, spot on Isaac. This team would compete well
with other states. Sturts best group as good as any in oz in my opinion. Do not underestimate the quality of our league even without imports.

1.Nathan Crosswell/Greg Smith
2.Darryl Corletto/Brad Collins
3.Luke Mcmillan/Darren Smith
4.Brett Hobba/Andrew Knowles
5.Brett Wheeler/Jason Eversteyn

Thats Big V without imports.

Some interesting pics above. You can't doubt the potential the Bungey shows but would he be the pick behind Cooper at the moment?

My Picks would be (based on this season only)
PG - Zorich / Sullivan
SG - Ng / Scanlon
SF - Hill / Forman
PF - Krause / Dix
C - Cooper / Alexander

Honerable mentions to Madgen, Smylie, Pudds & even Reesy on recent form.

For the Girls i'd have:
PG - Marino / Lorenzini
SG - Hurst / Nixon
SF - Ranford / Hill
PF - M. Bowley / B. Bowley
C - Beatty / H. Bowley

I'd like to squeeze J Conn in there somewhere too...

Isaac: I thought Maher had given up ABL for the season to "allow his body to rest" before the NBL season starts?

I can't beleive you think that our central all star team wouldn't win. Thats a pretty awesome team. 6 siwers and Smylie. Let the Big V play their imports, we would still give them a bath. Ng is playing as good if not better than any shooting guard in the nation at the moment. Holmes a boomer.

Our best easily matches it with any other states best, its the depth that our competition doesn't have. Our 5th team would get spanked by the Seabl 5th team, but not our 1st!

PG - Hill, Zorich
SG - Ng, Scanlon, Madgen
SF - Holmes, Forman
PF - Dix, Krause, Smylie
C - Cooper, Bungey

to me this sounds like one of the better 12's gettin around our ABL - and for some experience or even depth - reggie( GGood all-round), B. Cambpell(great shooter), Pudds, Webber.

Now anyone that puts HAMBOUR in any team should really think twice, he is an ordinary player, and shouldnt even get recognised, in the top 10.

SF - Copeland v Krause (Speed Factor)
PF - Nash v Dix
C - Wheeler v Rees

#86456,

you say hambour is ordinary...

yet his 16p, 11r, 4a is right up there with your all stars:

Dix's: 21, 11, 3
Smylie's: 19, 10, 2
Krause's 20, 9, 1
