Wildcats sign Brooks

Looks like Fish has managed to find a decent replacement for sacked guard Bailey.

They announced yesterday the signing of NBA Development League Gurad Darren Brooks.
Brooks (24yo and 6'3") is the only player to win both 'Player of the year' and 'Defensive Player of the Year' in back to back seasons.
He is also only the second player to have recorded 1,500 points, 600 rebounds, 400 assists and 250 steals for the Missouri Valley Conference.
According to Coach Fisher "Brooks can defend anyone from a point guard to a 4-man and can play positions one, two and three with ease giving us a lot of flexibility."

Sounds like a fantastic pick up and an exciting player to watch. Looking forward to when they come here.
Still hope Bailey manages to find a new club in the NBL tho.

Does sound good, and it's always interesting to have fresh talent coming into the league.

When I read the thread title, I wondered if they'd snatched KB as an assistant coach...

I think NZ should replace Melzer with Bailey, start Oscar at the four, and add an Australian guy off the bench to go with Vukona. That would put Henare (weakpoint of the roster last year) on the bench, and give you Bailey's 18 PPG and 6 APG over Henare's 6 and 4. Here's the comparison. Bailey is very good for a guard from the field (47%) and a threat from outside (37.5%) unlike Henare (19.6%).
