Found this interesting article.
In 1971, Muhammad Ali and Wilt Chamberlain nearly scheduled a 15 round fight.
My money would of been on Ali, but it would of been an interest boxing match.

Good find TR. Of course Ali would have destroyed Wilt. Too fast and too powerful a punch. That Wilt even contemplated getting into the ring with Ali says alot about the sort of man he must have been back then. A hard man!

It would have been as interesting as watching Tiger Woods play Pete Samprass at tennis. Both Ali and Wilt were one of the greatest at their respective sports, but I imagine total novices at each other sports. Ali would wipe the floor with Wilt in a boxing ring and vise versa on a basketball court. It would have been nothing more than freak show entertainment.

Apparently the fight was ready to take place but wilt only wanted to fight for the title and Ali lost the title before the match took place. would have been very interesting

I though Wilt did do some boxing in his day? Ali would've won but man Wilt would've had a fair reach advantage!

wilt is prolly one of the strongest players of all time, and well lets face it he wasnt short. would have been close fight possibly. all wilt would need to do is hold Ali back with left hand and punch with right hand lol or do some cartoon ISH, like clober him on top of the head through the ring... haha just funny thinking about it.
