Funny Sixers vs Crocs: First home game!

Wednesday October 6th is the Sixers' first home game; it sees them tackle the Townsville Crocodiles at the Dome at 7:10PM. This is tomorrow night, so get organised!

On Saturday night, Adelaide went down to the Crocs by three points after Maher missed a final-play shot, and then Holmes' successful shot from outside was ruled "after the buzzer" and subsequently disallowed.

Both Adelaide and Townsville are expected to fair well in the Philips Championship in 2004/05. The Sixers have balanced their roster with the addition of Paul Rees and David Cooper in the middle, and Willie Farley rejoins Brett Maher.

Townsville have made a speedy transition from one of the older teams of the NBL to one of the younger ones with the addition of rookies Brad Newley (from SA) and Adam Quick. Their two imports Casey Calvary and Rob Brown performed well in their first official outing and supplement two of the NBL's top names in John Rillie and Rob Rose. While Pat Reidy is out with injury, the Crocs also enjoy the involvement of one-time Sixer Derek Moore.

It should be a great game: a chance for the Sixers to get their revenge and improve their 04/05 record to 2 wins, 1 loss; alternatively, a Crocs win could see them at 2 and 0 near/at the top of the ladder.

If you are not a season ticket holder you can investigate the Try 5 offer from the Sixers ($123.75 for 5 games), or get your ticket from Venuetix (adult ticket is $30.20 if you buy online, or $28 if you buy over the phone on 8225 8888 or in person at one of their outlets).

Can you buy tickets at the door this year? I can't see anything about it on the Sixers site.

Anyway, hopefully you can. Hopefully there's no admin fee or service charge or transaction fee -- you might be able to get a ticket for $24.70, but who knows. Could be worth a shot?

This should be a cracker game...maybe even best of the year.

Rillie, Rose and Newley all have soemthing to show the sixers and Cavalry's stats should mean he will be something to watch.

Plus it is Willie and Big Fella's homecoming.

Other games i reckon will be good for punters to check out will be

Cairns
Brisbane
Tigers
Perth
Gong

Hmmm its nice to see that someone realises there is actually a game tonight - maybe the 6ers could post a link from their site to here so that we can all keep up to date!

Enjoy the game everybody!

Can someone tell the Sixers that their team played a game over last weekend? It's almost midday on Wednesday and no one's updated the site to mention the game on Saturday!

Who's responsible and why hasn't it been done?
