36ers into Blitz QFs

We play Sydney this afternoon. Lost to the Tigers by 7, beat the Dragons by 14 and then lost to Brisbane in OT by 5. Brisbane and Perth are already into the semi-finals. The other two spots are between Townsville or Melbourne and Sydney or Adelaide.

New guys for Adelaide seem to be doing especially well.

Copeland will prosper under Smyth...because he doent need to be 'coached' as such, already an established player. Hopefully plays with a point to prove all season

Wolly, for a team that has gone through a major overhaul this season to make it a huge improvement on previous years, that effort was no where near good enough. I hope it was not an indication of what's to come from them. Sure the Sixers were down Wheeler, but I've seen little so far that would convince me that he'll do much to make a difference. What's wrong with Wheeler, why is he out for so long?

Every team approaches the NBL Blitz differently, some are out to win it, others are out to test out new sets, whilst most are tinkering with lineups that work to gether and sub rotations for the season and lastly it is a great opportunity for some of the younger, deeper end of the bench to get some experience.

So whilst there were some blowouts there were also some tight games.

Personally I wouldnt take too much from the results at the blitz.

Besides the fact we know the Bullets are packed with stars again, the Tigers will be tough keeping nearly the entire championship team together and the Kings will always be there to grind something out whilst Goorj is at the helm.

Lets wait and see what the season brings and hopefully Smyth got from the team what he had hoped for at the Blitz - whatever that might be.

Wait til after 4-6 games into the season. Let the new group put it together in a full game first before giving them some "encouragement".

Believe the coach needs to let fans know what is happening with Wheeler too!

Smyth was throwing the line up around. Different starters each game. Coops sat out one game.

Horvath is a keeper. Both Copes and Ng came out big in certain games.

Farley and Maher were well below their best. Wait till they gat their game together and they can beat anyne in the league. Whether they will is the question.
