Match-up time...

Who'd win 2-on-2 between:

Darnell Mee and Kevin Brooks

vs

Dusty Rychart and Willie Farley

Any faux game-call, reasonings, or estimate of a final score (first to 21) welcome. ;)

KB and Darnell would not be able to go inside against Rychart and Farley and I would think they would have to rely on their outside shooting. Score I would say 21-15 in favour of Rychart and Farley.

I think Rychart was the most blocked player in the NBL last season, and we all know about Darnell Mee and blocks.

Rychart might have more strength going for rebounds, but he's not all that tall for a PF.

Darnell could only guard one of Rychart or Farley at any one time -- Farley would be too fast for KB, and Rychart would probably be too strong.

I think it'd be an interesting match-up. If the Hawks got KB, then we might be able to see what would happen.

Rychart would win easy because of 1 thing.... attitude. KB doesn't want to work hard and sulks when things aren't going his way. Rychart would kill him and do it with class.

Is this KB now, or KB back in 1998-99?

Up to you. Maybe back then.

KB now and KB back then are 2 totally different players, and would more than likely change my argument. In my opinion, KB back then would beat Rychart. Along with Darnell and Maher he was the player to watch when you went to a game. Tough to guard and played good D on stronger opponents because of his long arms.

KB now wouldn't be able to stop a bus at a bus stop.

If it's the 98-99 KB (aka KB Ver.1), I'd take KB n Darnell.

Yeah, Dusty might be stronger than KB, but KB could play D back then when he applied himself, and I don't think Dusty could completely dominate the boards in a 2-on-2 game (especially taking into consideration how good Darnell is on the boards). And Darnell would shut down Willie.

And when you put KB n Darnell together, they understand each other and have great chemistry, which would go a long way towards victory. Your talking about one of the great import duo's in NBL history.

I can't see Dusty n Willie guarding those two in a pick n roll (with Darnell setting the pick and rolling to the basketball - he would kill Willie in the post), or a pick n pop situation (with KB setting the pick, then popping for that unstoppable jumper).

If you played possession (keep the ball after a score), then I'd take KB n Darnell by about 8-10 points.
