Metro Coaching Appointments

Not sure if these have been "announced" yet, but the recommendations are in. The 16 boys head coach appointment begs the question:

should you be allowed to select family into state roles. I would've thought there's got to be some independance in the selection process.

Thoughts?

If SOG has been appointed, the only question to be asked is , 'was he the best around?'
He's done his apprenticeship, has the smarts, a fair pedigree from a miniature rottweiler and fearsome mother with a successful jnr coaching brother! Maybe Mescke is an uncle......
I like the appointment.

Surely if they have learnt anything from previous years it is that appointments should be in the age group they coach in.

This gives them the whole year to view players from opposition sides not just a few scrimmages and trials.

And I agree it should be on who is availible and who is the best qualified, no matter the "blood lines".

This will be the most hilarious post tomorrow.....get ready to have a huge belly laugh at:
a) SaAM's shit stirring
b) all the people that were gullible enough to believe him

My view: I dont think these are sort after positions. They are virtually unpaid. Hell, you only need to look at the quality of some of the people in junior coaching roles to see that good coaches are not in abundance in SA.

Not saying ALL the state coaches are not good just its that the 2nd tier; those ready to move into these roles is not exactly deep.

If anyone half descent, bloodlines or not, puts their hand up then they should be considered.
