Tim Morrissey has suggested that Allatson was asked to move on.
Despite the team's stunning on-court success over the past four seasons, the Kings' front office has failed dismally to cash in.
Crowds at Sydney Entertainment Centre have been steadily dropping every season since moving from Homebush back into the city at the start of the 2002-2003 season.
The number of season ticket holders has also been dwindling, with the current membership down to an alarming 700-plus after being close to 2000 a few years ago.
Allatson angered Kings members this year by selling season ticket packages without informing Kings fans that four home games were being played in Canberra.
