Funny Schenscher waived by Bulls

This just in: Tough news for Luke Schenscher today - he has just been waived by the Bulls in favour of a point guard.

Europe? South Dragons?

We'll have to see.

DB5, no link. Oscar just talked to Schensch then - he has only just found out.

Shit, I thought he was a lock....
Barret must be the guy they signed then...
If he came back to Oz, would Adelaide have any room to sign him??

I'd say not.

However, I wonder if the Dragons could work some way around the leagues salary cap rules so they could pay Heal the minimum to play, and the rest of his salary to coach.

Then use the remainder of Heal's salary to spend on Schenscher?

IMO though, he'll likely hang around the US trying to pick up a roster spot with another team.

Sydney would have room in the cap - they've ALWAYS got room in their cap!

That's disappointing for him. After Skiles told him to stick around and miss the C'wealth games etc. Too bad for the big fella.
Given the lack of big men with the skills and work ethic Luke has , he should stay in the US and hit the weights and keep his name in the mix.
Injuries are always gonna present themselves and he may join a roster mid season.

I'm not surprised. The Bulls can't really carry two 7 foot projects after trading Basden to the Cavs for their 7 Euro footer. I though this trade was the writing on the wall for Luc.

My guess is the NBDL again and fingers crossed he will be picked up, or at least a few 10 day contracts throughout the season.

The Bucks may have a spare roster spot after waiving Ha. Bogut pissing in Larry's ear could see Luc as the backup to Bogut. Stranger things have happended

In The Advertiser, Boti said that Phil will lure Luke to the Sixers.

Not bloody likley!

Oh, I know. A spot in the 13 and half minimum rookie wage. That'll entice him.....

Pretty sure they could replace Maher with him - I think we have space in the points system and Maher is getting the max as far as I know, so they can offer him close to that.

The season's already pretty bizarre so I have no problems with getting ridiculous in the paint.

Ng/Sutton
Farley/Hill
Majstrovich/Copeland
Horvath/Wheeler
Schenscher/Cooper

Block party!

Yea, it would be great to get luke, who would be dropped from the 10, obviously if Maher was ruled out for the season, it could be him, but if Maher could play, my guess would have to be Wheeler, given that he is rumoured to be on 100k, and is a 8 point player, id say Schensch could fit straight in, if he's willing to play for that kind of money., and maybe a few extra dollars from our owner on the side may help. But yea i wouldnt be surprised to see luke stay in the US or go to Europe, as a 7 footer with NBA experience must be able to command some serious dosh id say

Gees Isaac, Nashy would be pretty unlucky to miss out on the 10 I'd say....

More likely, move Sutton back to 11th man (despite him playing well in his time), move Hill to backup PG, Copes to backup SG & Nash would be the backup 3.

Having said all of that, I'd rate our chances of securing Schenscher as highly unlikely.

Seems Smyth has been active, and there remains interest from the West for Luke.

why is it that i dont believe the article for some reason????

Well, I don't think it's the article that's not believable, but maybe the fact that securing a player post-NBA career is a bit hopeful. e.g., 10-15 years time - that's forward thinking

But showing interest and staying in touch is one step that needed to happen regardless.
