Who didn't go to the game tonight because it was live on fox?

I for one am not there tonight as it's on TV.

Also sometimes depending if I am tired or not, I am happy to listen to it on the radio, I just wonder if it is affecting crowd numbers.

What would be great is if we had some radio coverage of our away games.

Just a few quick points: Cooper playing some great inside defense, has at least 4 blocks and has deflected/worried opponents out of a few others, however offensively is a non threat. Maher and Horvath are not getting enough good looks for my liking, the offense should go through those two and Farley every single time as no one else is consistent/confident enough to hit a shot. Wheeler and Nash have been disappointing, I fail to see where they contribute more than what a pair of ABA players could. From what little Sutton has played he's been fine with ball carrying duties etc.

Hopefully in the second half we'll see some considerably better perimeter defense and more emphasis on cutting out west sydney second chances, as well as more structured offense and the ability to change that struture when need be on BOTH ends of the floor.

Farley, Sutton and Copeland on fire. Big shots went in and some great steals. CONFIDENCE was in the team in the second half.

Cooper had 6 REJECTIONS!!!!
An awesome match from him, great defence, some great rebounding by Wheeler and Sutton did a nice fake the three point shot.

Well I think we got out of jail, but 2 points:-

1. Great to see Copeland continue his form resurgence. Not just scoring but seemed to me defensively and importantly from a leadership point of view he was great, and

2. I can't get over this kid Sutton. He is continually stepping up week after week.

For Christ sake Mal sign him for another 3 years right now.

No this is not Mrs Sutton, just a really happy 36er fan.

A lot less cost now that's for sure.

I dont think any player should be signed for 3 years after a few good games. Not even after a few outstanding games. Needs to prove himself first. By all means, sign him to 1 or even two years though. And again, do it before seasons end.

Sutton won't go anywhere else just yet. His first season in the NBL and he has been fantastic. He will build on this for atleast another couple of years until he looks elsewhere (if he needs to). He must have a good impression of himself at the moment, so while he is happy, he will stayput. I also think the prospect of filling Maher's shoes in the next couple of years will entice him to stay.

Is it just me or does Horvath look soft on defense, everyone has been bagging Willie but I thought Horvath was way too soft tonight. Maybe it was as a result of last weeks foul out.

At the game tonight and I gotta say Sutts played outstanding. Controlled the floor, was a pest to the pig guards and was always looking for the better option playing man ahead basketball.

Loved Coopers game, if the box scores are only saying 5 blocks they must have stopped counting after the first quarter.

Usually Im all about seeing the 6ers go to Horvath at every opportunity, but tonite wasn't for him. Touch not there and yes seemed to effect him on D.

Fantastic game to see, best of the season.

Sutton is the person we should be grooming to take over from maher. Ng and Hill are good but they fail to give us the spark that sutton gives. Even though we lost to new zealand we looked so much better when Sutton was on. He has a cool head and sweet hands.

Seems to me that we are killing our own momentum. When the team gets fired up, the crowd gets fired up which further fires up the team. The opposition then call a time out. In previous years, I recall that the girls, and more recently the Seals as well, would work to keep the crowd going right through the break - clapping, chanting, whatever. This year, the girls (much as I love to watch them) perform one of their excellent dance routines during such timeouts but it takes the focus off the game. When play resumes, the crowd is quiet again and the team has lost most of its fire.

If the crowd really is a powerful "sixth man", shouldn't we exploit it to the max?!

My take was not that he was disinterested far from it, he appeared to me to be more focused.

Each time out the look on his face was more about thinking (and I assume about his performance and the game) than looking all around the place which he normally does.

This seemed to be backed up by his comments post game.

And whilst still not great (but its not his strength) he was better at D last night.

First half was abysmal. Small crowd and the league's bottom team were making us look pathetic on our home court. I felt sorry for Mal Hemmerling having to do an interview at half-time after how they'd performed so far. My girlfriend at one point thought about going to get a magazine to read it was that bland.

Thought this from Boti was funny:

Grimly it looked like another night when passion would have to wait til everyone got home, Adelaide's second quarter arguably its most dismal of a morale-sapping season.
But thank the hoops gods for that second half. Suddenly the small crowd didn't seem so small and almost everything started going Adelaide's way.

Thought it was good that Copeland didn't rely just on long-bombs to score. Bottom two by minutes were Majstro and Nash, leaving seven playing most of the minutes.

It's a case of take whatever wins you can get, but there's still trouble there when we need a 25-30 point turnaround to beat the league's bottom team on our home court.

Should be a very interesting game in New Zealand next week to start the Adelaide road trip.

I agree with your assesment of Copelands game Isaac....it was nice to see him take it to the hoop instead of just bombing away from the perimeter all night. Sutton did a good job finding him for a few layups in transition, and he looked to penetrate which he hasn't been doing so far in the season.
