NBL Salary Cap rises again

Goes from $776,000 in 2006/07 to $810,000 for 2007/08, a 4.4% increase.

More on the NBL site

This can only be good news for NBL players - with 13 teams in the league next year, the bump in the cap and extra playing positions mean more opportunities for rookies and veterans currently holding a bench spot, and also should mean slightly stronger offers for mid-range players.

For fans, it hopefully means a boost in the level of talent.

For half of the teams, it makes no real difference!

THis might begin to bring the 36ers players salaries into line with the coaches.

Funny that on the radio today Smyth was asked what the top NBLplayers are getting paid. He said between $250-$300k, funny thing is that the max they can receive is $175k.
