Sammy on 5AA

So is it a big call... or a correct call when Sammy labels this the best side she has played with in the WNBL?.

Chris speaks in such glowing terms of their workrate and their courage/commitment to the taks they are given...

But is a side that contained Sporn, Screen, Phillips, Summerton, Brogan a better side? or are they just better players and this team has a real "team ethos"....despite Boti's views on one of their key players selfishness.

this would be one of the best teams for sure - not all household names YET !

like to see rasmussen, foley, gahan, king return features if possible.

this team has a more mature phillips - inside and outside strengths and depth - plenty of scoring options evenly spread - we are deep to number 12 in this squad

The bench is the big difference.
In the past they had very little quality off the bench after the stars.....

Now they have the likes of Narelle and Lauren King and also Randford and Boyd too.

Plus they have two american girls who add plenty of size and mobility.

Boyd has been very useful on the bench.

Unfortunately not off of it as she is yet to suit up for a single match!

Would have to say this would be close to the best LIghtning team I have seen.

When we had Phillips, Sporn, Brogan etc in the one team we had alot of veterans who were on the downside of their career (still playing well mind you), or a lot of up and coming players yet to find their feet.

This team is full of established players, with a couple of rookies to learn from the likes of Phillips, Woosnam, Boyd, Lindsay.
