pepper, ellis to crocs

rumoured on ozhoops that pepper and ellis are locked in,

ellis is no abney but a good replacement and thank god they have a starting centre now.

gleeson is in the philippines talking to ellis and looking for another import.

rumour has it cedar is off to singapore, so the crocs have two roster spots avalible for a remaining 12 points.

if they go a new 10pt import then they only have 2pts left. they will probably go for a rookie. but if they go with EJ then they will have 4 points and they could look at clint reed or john philip to sit on the bench behind sheridan or egan.

the bench is alright to

C Vanderjagt
F Egan
F Sheridan
G Drew williams
G kelvin

but the problem is either egan or sheridan have to start cause they only have 4 points left for another player.

word is gleeson is looking at an ex CBA mvp, and since he was a head coach in the CBA at sioux falls from 02-04 and in 03 Versile Shaw was the mvp chances are thats who he is looking at.

being a crocs fan i like to think of what could have been if we had the money to ignore the cap and if egan was a 7(you cant tell me egan should be an 8 while rush is a 7).

PG - EJ 8/Kelvin 5
SG - Rillie 10/Drew 3
SF - Saville 5/Sheridan 5
PF - Abney 10/Egan 7
C - Pepper 10/Vanderjagt 5

if only we had more money and no soul we to could buy a championship.(if that team would even do it these days)

Philip has signed on with the Hawks. Reed might be OK.

Olson for the Breakers is worth four points (bit low!).

so the crocs are starting to take some shape, i think they are going for an import SF rather then EJ at Point

Kelvin - decent back up PG hopefully can run the show ok, seeing as though he will be given the chance

Rillie - great role player, leads by example does everything, great experience

Import (Ex CBA MVP) - said to be a gun 2/3 with stats like rillies, but aslot more athletic( no offense to JR)

Ellis - a workhorse and very solid in defence, a solid 18 and 10 every night

Pepper - one of the better C's in the league, with size you cant teach

????? - not sure who this will be but cook would be great, truck loads of potential great basketball head , a true PG

Drew - one of the better defenders in the league, athletic and good 3pt range, will learn heaps from JR and get better every week

Sheridan - good defender, not given the opportunity under BG and has a big chance to step up and show people what he can do

Egan - has he best year last year and he does everything. defends, hits the 3, posts up and all with great percentages. the kind of player every team needs and gets the job done

Vanderjagt - has potential but has never lived up to it, if pepper can teach him some things he may just bust out of his shell and really play

a different team to previous years, they seem to have most of their bases covered. they can go small and quick or very big with to good 7ft players, they have several guys who can shut people down defencively and others who will shoot the crap out of it. the only real weakness is they dont have a starting PG, alot of this season will depend on how kelvin plays and who they get to back him up
