Funny Sixers to reintroduce family tickets

Sixers representative has been interviewed by KG and Cornesy in response to negative feedback about their lack of family tickets available for Sixers games.

The radio duo had received an email of complaint saying that it cost $98 for a family of four to watch a game, and expressing the view that this was far too expensive.

The Sixers only sold 6 family season tickets last year and decided to remove that option this year. They also removed the walk-up family ticket option, despite having no data as to the popularity of this option.

Sixers rep said that the marketing team is now reviewing that and looking to implement a family ticket for around $75. This option, he insisted, would be promoted through member clubs and radio/newspaper as well as the club website.

He talked about receiving a lot of negative feedback from the media regarding the lack of family ticket over the last week and a half. The Sixers will be working with Venuetix to reintroduce this option and have it ready for the next home game.

They are also currently reviewing their pricing in light of the poor attendances this season, with a view to potential changes for the next season.

He said that a 400% increase in player insurance costs (I think this might be social/club basketball?) was partially to blame for the ticket costs.

For purposes of comparison, a family ticket is available to other NBL games.

West Sydney: $36 to $45
Brisbane: $45 to $55
Sydney: $48 (Silver) to $106 (Platinum)
Perth: $45 to $75 (Gold)
Hunter: $50
Melbourne: $73 (Silver) to $185 (Platinum)
Cairns: $39.95 (includes $20 McDonalds Meal!)

First price is cheapest. Second is the most expensive.

One would pressume they won't release any news about it until it is all finalised, but hopefully they do get it out in the public once it is organised.
