Anyone know what the Singers financial situation is? Are they likely to be around next season or are they facing extinction? Anyone know?

Pitty Wollongong govt. isn't able to do the same thing and give the Hawks a whole lot more time to find a major partner.

I thought I heard at the start of the season that the slingers only had enough money for one more season but that could be wrong.

Singapore is a small island/city unlike New Zealand which is a country with many cities. The size of Singapore is only a circle from Belair to Salisbury.

The CLSA naming sponsorship will probably be helping them with that financial position.

Should be challenging for play-offs next season

CAMERON (rookie of year imo)/ JANEV
KNIGHT/ AUSSIE RETURNING FROM EUROPE
GRIZZARD/ AUSSIE FROM COLLEGE
HELMS/ MCDONALD/ ALLEN
GOOD QUALITY POINT GUARD- In the ilk of Damien Ryan

Few developmental singapore players and thats a good squad1

Cameron is not even close to ROTY this year. Jawai, Knight and Loughton are a cut above.

re Marco's suggestion of team for next year . Well , much can be said - but somehow the Slingers have to add a bit more experience without loosing some of the fast improving young players from this year.

Hopefully somebody is already working on getting new contracts together for Janev, Cameron, Fitzgerald, McDonald and Allen. Knight is already signed.

Grizzard and Helms have been a good combination though Helms not always consistent. Given the importance of the imports to the team , Helms has to reduce the number of turnovers and needs to increase his work rate. Hopefully he could be allowed to focus full time on being the shooting guard if a quality experienced point guard, maybe from the Phillipines, could be found.

A Priority improvement should a dominant centre who likes to play in the paint and is a strong rebounder but where do you find such player ?

Spotted this fact from Derek at OzHoops this morning: Singapore have now been mathematically eliminated from play-off contention.
