mahoney is a guard from connecticut, not a tall- laura was cut for yolande griffith a mega WNBA name - but the team dropped a couple - so she is back in.
Laura was dropped from the team after they signed Yolanda Griffith in what became the biggest bungle in Taranto's history.
Griffith was unfit and out of form. Laura was averaging 17pts and 7 rebounds in the EuroCup and her team was on top and clear by 2 wins.
The coach and team owners thought they had secured the championship by signing Yolanda, a 37yr old has-been WNBA superstar.
The team lost three straight games along with any hope of winning the EuroCup title. It took the crowds chanting "we want Summerton on the court" in the third loss for a change to occur.
Yolanda left Taranto within 2 weeks of arrival. She was supposed to see out the season with Laura on the bench. Her car with automatic transmission (special delivery) arrived in the city a few days later.
God only knows how much this saga cost Taranto. Let alone there chances of signing Laura again next season.
