Country U16/U18

These championships are on the weekend after Easter - anyone watching these with interest?
Do the district clubs send out scouts to these, or are the country areas just too far away to care.

Historically North, Sturt and F/ville have had rep's there.

But these carnivals are about the country kids competing against one another and working out which country associations can develop the best team in each age group, not for district spots.

The ambitious clubs will be there. The lazy, unsuccessful clubs wont. They'll just continue to whinge that the strong clubs have some sort of unfair advantage.

Its unlikely that there will be much unidentified talent though.

Jack you can't have it both ways - on one hand the district clubs don't care but in another post its all plunder and pillage.

It works both ways. Kids that are prepared to make the huge commitment to commute to the city to play will benefit from the extra competition and additional skills coaching. They take that back to their local associations and it improves the standard.
