30 points and 20 rebounds

Last game, 36er Luke Schenscher scored 33 points and added 20 rebounds against the Wildcats.

The NBL and Boti have both noted that this is the first 30/20 game since Mark Bradtke's finale as a 36er when he had 43 points and 25 rebounds in 1992.

The NBL's Fast Facts Round 7 edition highlights a few other times this has been achieved.

Most recent NBL games of 30 points and 20 rebounds:
2006 Larry Abney for Townsville vs Hawks 36 points 21 rebounds
2002 Chris Anstey for Victoria vs Tigers 32 points 20 rebounds
1997 Clarence Tyson for Townsville vs Giants 31 points 20 rebounds
1996 Ray Owes for Geelong vs Rollers 33 points 26 rebounds
1996 Ray Owes for Geelong vs Crocs 40 points 22 rebounds
1996 David Van Dyke for Newcastle vs Magic 38 points 20 rebounds
Surprised that Chris Burgess never got there actually.

Worth noting the 30/20 prowess of two particular 36ers here too:
Mark Davis achieved the feat 16 times between 1985 and 1991 while in 1984 University of North Dakota import Dan Clausen posted nine games of 30/20 in his debut year as a Sixer.
If you had to place a bet right now on who might achieve a 30/20 next, who would you pick?

I think I'd be choosing between Chris Anstey and Rick Rickert.

Why not Luke again?

Seems to be hitting his stride, doesn't miss too many from the field. Add to that we cannot shoot for shit, I think the rebounds might be a chance!

My vision never ever got to within 20/20, so I'll pass on that.

Chalk up 1 assist to DD.

Mark Tyndale. Hey he's already gone for 30/15.

Nah, since Anstey and Rickert are taken I'll go with Rosell Ellis when he's fully fit.

I can't see Rickert ever getting 30/20, quite simply cos I can't see him ever scoring 30 pts on that Breakers team.

Anstey would be my pick, he regularly has 16-17-18 rebound games, but since he's taken I'll go with ... well actually, Big Luke and Rosell Ellis would be my next two picks ... so fourth option - Larry Abney.

Tyndale might acheive 30/20 in total for the rest of the season

Jordan, Rickert had 25 and 10 in 27 minutes earlier this season. If he got more minutes, it could happen.

Based on last Saturday night....I don't think Abnety will EVER get close to that quality again.

He did ONE nice thing against the Dragons, a monster dunk in the last quarter. He even went to celebrate it until he looked and realised he was being guarded by Tariq Naqqash. He sort of slumped away after that.

I reckon 8 and 5 of his 14 and 10 were in the last quarter against no-one.

Was Luke about 7foot when he was 15, and asked to help out with training for the Australian team against NZ ( I think Phil was coaching) ?

According to our official 36er web-site, he's 25 now, & the Boomer experimemnt was in either 2001 or 2002. Maths isn't my strong point, so I'll leave it someone else. ; )
