Jo Hill Emerges at Townsville Fire

Sydney Olympian Jo Hill hopes she can still run the younger WNBL players around when she hits the court tomorrow night, writes Natalie Peut in The Townsville Bulletin.

Hill received a late call-up from a desperate coach Peter Buckle whose Townsville Fire team was hit by injuries early in the season with forwards Leah Rush (knee) and Rebecca Schatz (back) going down within a week of each other.

Interesting that she made reference to NOT being picked up by the Lightning.

I think it's incredible to be playing WNBL at that age. I will be keen to see how she does.

hope she does really well. And good on her for taking the shot.

Hey - with Buckle the assistant opals coach and Graf being the head coach and Petey's bestest mate - maybe he can get her into the opals training squad again - of course she would have to go and play for Canberra in the WNBL again. (lol)
