Ballinger MVP, Holmes Best D, Kimber club man

Three awards were awarded at tonight's Hahn Super Dry MVP Awards Night, which took place at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Hindley Street.

It was a great night attended by 250 people including players and partners, 36ers Dancers, the club, partners of the club and members.

The three awards awarded were Best Club Person, Best Defensive Player and of course, the Most Valuable Player from the 36ers squad 2010/2011.

The Best Club Person was awarded to the team's manager, Jared Kimber for the third year in a row for his hard dedication to the club in many areas.

Best Defensive Player went to Jacob Holmes for his leadership on the defensive end of the floor averaging just under 7 rebounds per game for the season.

And the most prestigious award, the Most Valuable Player, award went to captain Adam Ballinger for the fourth year in a row. Ballinger averaged 15.3 points at 54.2%, 6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in 27 minutes per game.
Congrats to all.

Anon Holmes is one of the best defensive players in the league, he is constantly up against much taller opponents and often comes out ontop, to average 7 rebounds when you are 6ft 6 says alot about his presence on the court.

Ballinger was also in the top 10 scorers of the league and led the league in blocks. His shot attempts are down on most other top 10 players and his percentage is higher than most of them as well.

Skud i disgaree about Holmes prescence on the court defensively, he is good for a 6'6 flat footed forward, BUT his his efforts never lead to wins. And to say Ballinger is top 10 in scoring in the NBL is a pretty useless fact, there isnt many teams, and there isnt many offensive weapons.
