Direction Of Basketball

When will basketball release a clear vision and direction on where it's going.... If you don't know where you are going how can you get there?? Clubs and associations in particular need higher level direction so they can plan their strategy.

Sponsors want to be associated with organisations with a clear vision and direction.

Some examples...

- Pro/Rel
- Domestic association models
- Facilities
- SASI/NITP
- NITP delivered thorugh associations and schools
- Use of technology
- Integration with NBL/WNBL
- Etc

What has Wayne Carroll done since he's been in his role????

The lack of direction is best summed up in Boti's article today in the Tiser. It's a very interesting combination of items for the hard core basketball fans which number fewer and fewer each year and has no appeal to a younger and local audience which it should be written for. No pics of hot women who are killer ball players locally at ABL level, no promotion of the league, no story of any up and coming district slayer of evil and as such is only ever read by minority. Feed the peoplelABLbasketball, inundate with great pics and stories of Adelaide significance to engender interest. Know you will tell me it can't be done, try !

Put a rudder on the ship as the first step forward!

we developed mission and vision statements every couple of years to keep them recent.
This worked in with 1-2-5 and 10 year plans.
Part of this process was also accepting that there will be reflective and dynamic plans to deal with unforeseen occurrences.

Getting ABL teams to visit schools in their local area would do a lot towards students finding things out about the local comp, most kids these days have no idea about the district competition -might as well be laccross!

ringlord, many ABL players are not professionals - they work or study during school hours.
