I've got an idea. Go to bed and find the score when you wake up!

Lost to France 71-67, boxscore shows poor shooting (38%, 32% 3p), turnovers (18) and fouls (28). All the signs of a rust breaker. Mills had 20p on 6/15 and 4to, Newley 11p on 4/12 and 3to.

Martin, Worthington and Crawford didnt play. Croatia tomorrow will be interesting, hopefully the team will have all got the flight/rust out of their system.

Serbia beat China 87-53, who lost Wang Shipeng early in the second quarter against Australia while only down a couple of baskets, and are now playing without Wang Zhizhi, Liu Wei and Shipeng, hence their very bad form. Croatia are 11 up on GB in the third quarter after a slow start.

We took 28 3 pt shots to 32 2 pt shots.
Did they have a couple big houses inside? Or is that just how we play?
Dellavedova was busy in his 18 mins. 6 points, 5 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 steal and fouled out.
Probably the biggest difference was we were murdered on the boards.

maybe we got spanked on the boards because they have noah? also martin was our leading rebounder in first game the bigs need to do more imo

Parker and Batum had 16 and 14 FTA's respectively. Hard to win when you have not one, but two opponents who are getting to the line at will.

Patty's 6 of 15 looks bad, but it included 4 of 11 from deep, so overall % wise that's actually decent. 1 assist to 4 turnovers is the real problem in his line.

I don't think being killed on the boards was a big surprise but 46-27 is still disappointing.

Albicy, their 5'10 pg had 6 boards! Only Maric (7) had that many for us. Amazing that they were only hitting 10% on threes yet we couldnt stopped them from getting to the line or collecting 14 o boards. Still, improvement over the next few games is what's important, not a win against France.

A great hit out against the most talented team put together in an extremely long time.

Most talented "French" team, perhaps?

It would have been interesting if martin had played especial with his defense if he could have slowed Tony Parker down and also so with his rebounding could have made it look a bit better

Parker still would've killed Martin though.

You need great team defence against Parker.

Having Bogut in the middle may well have been a game changer. He would have made life more difficult around the rim for Batum and Parker, and Noah would not have been able to dominate the boards.

In any case, a great hit out. Keep in mind beating NZ in the Oceania series is the gopal right now.

PS: I meant to say the most talented "French" team in my earlier post...

The boomers with the option of having bogut and anderson would probably beat france by 10 or so in my book.

There would be alot more on the line if we met France in the Olympics. Bogut v Noah you could say would cancel each other out. Cant see us beating France if they are up and flying...

Most teams at this level are so even, it comes down as much to how you execute on the night as the talent on the park. Boomers could beat France one night and lose to them a few nights later.

Ingles only shot the ball 6 times (in 24 minutes).

Was Martin injured? Surely he plays ahead of Gibbo.

18 pts/18 rebs between all 5 bigs for AUS....disgraceful. Bogut, Andersen & Jawai will obviously fix this.

Mills - 1 assist & 11 3pt attempts in 27 mins....if that were reversed we'd have won.
