What lengths, David Stern?

Stern has been getting, if not plaudits, then at least a certain amount of grudging respect from many quarters for having brokered the CP3 to Clippers trade.

However that deal initially fell apart due to the NBA's insistence, and Clip's refusal, to include guard Eric Gordon in the package.

But then, rather fortuitously, they bid for Billups (who was waived by the Knicks under the new amnesty provision), and won him in the waiver auction for a touch over $2m. Peanuts considering he's on contract $14.2m this season and the Knicks will be paying the balance.

And so they relented, included Gordon, and the rest is history.

Which begs the question: Did David Stern gift Chauncey Billups to the Clippers as a means to clinch the CP3 deal?

Anyways, Woj has once again outdone himself and written another scintillating piece. It's a fascinating read:

Very interesting read. Stern should probably go, too much drama, too much conspiracy and he's been there for a very long time.

Agreed AK-47. He passed his used-by date some time ago imo.

I am in the minority that has always liked David stern and think he is a very intelligent man and eloquent speaker. However, his recent pandering to small market "screaming minority" owners like dan Gilbert and Michael Jordan is really starting to piss me off. The reason those teams aren't successful is purely due to basketball decisions not the size of their market.
