Patty Mills Cleared by FIBA

According to Patty on Twitter he has received his clearance and is free to sign with any NBA team.
Thoughts on where he will go/ where you would like to see him?

Lakers need all the help they can get.

Come on Chi town, let Patty learn from one of the best!

He can continue the Aussie flavour of Longley and Anstey there.

Saw twitter rumor that Portland were thinking of releasing oden and/or johnson and bringing in 32 yr old centre whose name I forget. Will they get mills for johnson

Pryzbilla is the centre.
They love Johnson from memory.

Johnson has been waived

Nice, did not realise that.

Johnson was waived to make space for Pryzbilla... they'd need to waive another player in order to make space for Patty, I'm not sure if they are willing to waive Oden knowing that means another team has an opportunity of getting him.

The only number 1 draft pick who should ever be waived is Kwame Brown.. Portland should hold onto Oden

Kwame and Olawakandi ^^^

Olowokandi's career averages are about the same as Bogut's and pretty much double Kwame Brown's so perhaps a tad harsh!

Seriously??
Bogut 12 and 10 400 games

Olowakandi 8 and 7 500 games

but if you like I can say Larue Martin with career averages of 5 and 5 for a 6 foot 11 bloke.

Wouldn't think the Warriors would want him unless they get rid of Ellis, Curry or Robinson

You'd take any other team at $4.50, right?

WOW. Thanks Isaac, would have missed that one..
Agree with the doctor, they are decent odds.

Lakers could use him as a change of pace PG off the bench.
They really needs some speed on their team.

Lots of rumours about PGs getting traded before the deadline in 2 weeks, ie Nash, Calderon, Sessions, Curry or Ellis.
So some roster spots may appear soon.

So he's got 2 weeks to find a team, if not he never plays NBA again?

Surely with all the trade deadline movements + with LA and other teams needing variety or depth at the PG Patty will find a team? Maybe even more minutes?

I would love to see him in a goodish (+ .500ish) team getting minutes, LA or Boston would be amazing. But more importantly I would love to see him playing more minutes.

It seems like the fans in Portland (and the owner) have a lot of love for Patty, and feel like they're missing his energy/spark/lucky charmness that the blazers are really lacking right now.

I just hope he finds a team, minutes and some form.

Some reports are saying that he can only sign with Portland now.
As he was a restricted Free-Agent he had until the 1st of March to get an offer-sheet from another team.

Can't see him playing NBA this season if this is correct.
Portland would have to cut another player to sign him.

Portland apparently don't have room to sign him and have told Mills as much according to Mills' twitter feed.

If this is true Aussiebballer (which i hope it isn't) could Portland waive Open , sign Patty then trade Patty for picks or whatever then resign Oden?
Or could Portland waive Oden, sign Patty to a 10-day contract or whatever now with a view to waive him so that he can then sign with another team then resign Oden?

I've got no idea how the whole NBA free-agent system etc works - apologies.

For this to happen there would have to be a bit of good-will on the behalf of Portland, which one would think shouldn't be too much of a stretch?

Can someone with some knowledge on this contract stuff give us answer?
