Souths desperately unlucky with an undermanned team in which the south bench coached the pants off the woodville bench who, on this performance will not win another game

After being 21 points down towards the end of the third quarters a massive last quarter (5-25) west ended up winning it by 3 with one of the biggest comebacks ive ever seen with my time at abl

If you go to ABL Website http://www.centralabl.com.au/ and look at Stats Webcasts - it shows you all the results from last night except Norwood Centrals.

Scott Thur coached south men last night.
Did a great job, just couldnt get the win but they had the opportunity. Not the walk in the park that Al would have been expecting. This team will improve under new coaching. Hopefully Scott Thur can free up some time and look to take this on more permanently

South men did a very good job considering the off court issues. Al was luckier than a speeding driver going through a red light with the red light camera run out of film and a Scott's truck coming the other way!

Considering southern girls have 7 of there 9 players under the age of 18, I would say it was an upset

Box says Scott Thur backed by Scott Freez. Says Al Green was backed at Woodville by Phil Smyth.

Not much talk from round 1. No reviews in the paper. Not much said on here. Anybody got any insight into the weekends games?

I watched a great womens game on saturday between Norwood and Centrals. Final scores Norwood 72 Centrals 63. The game was in doubt well into the last quarter, players that are worth seeing are Jess Foley,Amy Lewis for Norwood and Jessica Mahony and an American named D'Lesha Lloyde whom had just flown into Aust just recently after having played in Norway. The game was of a high standard, high scoring, great moves and it has shown that Central Women have the game to push other sides deep into the last quarter.

Well I watched a very poor standard game at Morphett Vale between the women.

The tigers seriuously have got 5 players that should be suiting up or ABA and possibly the worst bench in ABA history.

Yes they won but only due to playing the starters for almost the entire game.

Wonder how well Pero V is adjusting to being a playing coach? Heard that the subbing got overlooked a bit on Sunday. Congrats on the first up win tho.

Actually I had nothing to do Sunday and went and watched. I thought his subbing was pretty good check the box score and the guys with more minutes were delivering (see Idx Suc) Seems to me the coaching panel got it right and will only get better with time. Throw in the American import who looks huge and even though just one game against Southern North in my opinion are in the mix to go deep in the finals.

The Norwood centrals men's game was also pretty interesting. Norwood looked to have a few players out but had guys really step up in the void.
