If you recall, there was the massive "campaign" via ONE's Facebook page.

Last time I checked, most people were ignored and then they turned off posting on their wall.

You're better off getting an online petition signed with a few hundred thousand signatures on it.

Sorry to be Mr Negative here, but 10-20 people from one forum won't do anything.

There has been a few petitions, ANZBallaz had one with around 500ish. There's also a facebook page, if you search for show NBL im sure it will pop up.

But really, no matter how much we complain, ONE won't change. The only way they would change this whole delayed thing is if they get ratings by people watching games.
Yes i know, catch 22, cant watch it when its on so late.

There are adverts on during the basketball. Someone pays for those adverts. If the game is on at 12am they probably get 10% of the audience then if it was a live game.

Value for money for their customers. Remember free to air watchers of programs are not a television channels customers but advertisers throughout the programming are. You need to watch a game, list all the adverts you see between 7:30 tomorrow and midnight and then write to those companies asking them to request to OneHD that basketball would give them better value for money.

Gee how about BA do something? Oh thats right too busy fighting wiht the Feds! Any one know who is running this league? Pretty sure its not ONE who are a for profit organisation. I know its frustrating and has been all season but dont shoot the messenger - look to how it happened!

The answer will set you free!

And what answer is that? A contract that states 3 games live, which later became "near live", and then later became 3 hours after the end of a game, and now some games 6-8 hours after completion. I doubt the NBL will have agreed to that.

However, what was written in the contract is something that the fans will probably never know for sure, so it's all speculation as to what was in the contract.

What is obvious though is One HD's complete disregard for the sport which they are covering. The cheap production, the graphics, the lack of analysis and detail, the bare minimum coverage of 3 very delayed games, the inflexibility to show blockbuster games such as Perth v NZ, the lack of promotion/hype on its website, or social media, and on top of that NOT ONE SINGLE advertisement of the NBL during the season to promote it's coverage (by contrast I've seen the netball advert at least once a day in the last few weeks).

So again, what is BA supposed to do and how do you know they haven't approached One about it already?

What was the last true ADVERT you saw on ONE??

Promoting Alligator Shooters and 4 year old Gang shows AND Community Service announcements THAT IS IT!!!

There must be ZERO advertising revenue! Who would be crazy enough to want to advertise with basically no audience?

BA or whoever signed this deal screwed up big time!!!

Let alone no more free NBA!!

One coverage was decent until they changed their programming. Hard for the league to foresee that.

Must admit I've only ever seen that 36ers ad and the Mark Davis/Al Green basketball camp ads on One never a proper NBL ad.

I haven't seen any advertising of the NBL this season. Last season yes, but not this season. Isn't this the responsibility of One to organize, not the NBL, as it's their program? FFS they advertise MASH, COPS and other has been shows but never the NBL.

Good article in this morning's Townsville Bulletin about the fiasco.

While 1 changed their programming would David Stern allow the NBA to be screwed by TNT if they wanted to show Bass Fishing in prime slots.

"We didn't play the games at 10.30pm because the NBL didn't give us time with notice of the finals draw," Mr Barham said.

Mr Barham said the network hadn't received any complaints regarding NBL matches not being shown live.

He wouldn't be drawn on this season's ratings, but said they "weren't good".

It is understood that Network Ten was able to renegotiate its contract because of the changes at ONE HD. Before this season the NBL was given the option of having one live game every Sunday at noon on the Ten Network, or to have three games on One HD at 10.30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The league chose the latter.

This one is a beauty as well:

"There's a difficulty with the venues because we're not the primary tenant in a majority of the venues," he said. "ONE HD has been through a lot of change - and they've honoured their commitment to our league."

----

So hang on, now the NBL have a re-negotiated contract? Did the NBL actually waiver their leverage of a future 5 games per week?

Firstly, how does venue availability have anything to do with showing the game at 10.30 or 12.30? If One wanted to show it at 10.30 they would. And surely they must have assumed that there would be a finals series following the regular season. Don't they know how sport works? One could be a bit more accommodating if venues actually was a legit excuse.

Secondly, the NBL renegotiated it's contract to 3 games at 10.30, not 12.30.

Thirdly, maybe Mr Barnham should speak to his staff, or check facebook because there have been lots of complaints about the coverage. It's easy to ignore the complaints and then say they never got any.

Fourthly, the ratings are not that good huh? What does he expect? 100,000 people to stay up late to watch two neutral teams that no-one knows about because One does not do any promoting whatsoever. I know the ratings are shit but that's the return you get for investing so little into the coverage.

This stinks from both sides.

NBL's refusal to acknowledge the problem and have upper management seriously stand up to ONE, and while ONE is being shady and telling a lot of half-truths, you can understand their issue with the bottom line which is $$$.

I know for sure that Townsville and NZ would have had the finals venue availability planned before the season. Not sure too much about how the other clubs run the business side of things but I doubt it would be much different.

And the NBL coming out and saying ONE have "honoured their commitment to the league" is the most pathetic, masochistic thing I've ever heard from a pro sports administration.

Might as well give up now if that's your attitude.

Where is your pride?

Behind the scenes the NBL would be pretty pissed off, but ONE are still sponsors, still showing coverage and the NBL still needs to act professional. They need to be as persuasive as possible and you won't get that by going head-on against Network Ten.

It's David versus Goliath

Too much money coming into the league Im guessing ONEHD will try and piss off the NBL as much as possible so the NBL reacts and says something negative about ONEHD.
That itself would be enough for ONEHD to terminate the contract.
BUsiness 101, NBL (for once) are playing this the right way....
Lets not forget in the back end of this deal there are up to 5 games a week to be shown, thats a lot of production costs!

Barnham should step down from his position if he claims they have not had any complaints about games not being shown live. Seriously Ten?

What about a package deal of both NBL/WNBL games??

Plus a weekly preview then highlights show!

There is room in plenty of the bull*%#€ programming on offer!!

The leagues are being strangled and this is filtering down to lower levels!!

It is time to dig in or die!!
