Venky

Great to see Venky Jois playing so well at Eastern Washington he had 20pts 13reb 5ast 3blk in their last game and is averaging 13.5ppg and 9.5rpg on the season.

Last year in the SEABL he averaged 10ppg and 6.5rpg. Maybe the SEABL is a little stronger than people realise?

On the surface his stats look good, but I don't know much about College basketball.

How good are the East Washington Eagles, and how good are the teams they compete against in the Bug Sky Conference?

Considering his team is only 5 - 15 is it a case of him being a mid sized fish in a very small pond?

SEABL is a men's laegue while college is for kids, albeit some kids who are pretty big & some who can play extremely well. Jois was very effective in SEABL, especially considering his age so I expect this effort in college is likely to be the first of many impressive performances. After all, many kids with decent college records return to play SEABL without putting up the numbers Jois did last year.

In college games Venky gets 30+ mins per game but he was playing 20+ in SEABL.
Also he was only 17 when he first played SEABL.
College is the logical progression if he wants to be seen by NBA scouts. He has the talent to possibly be the first Australian forward to make the NBA.

Venky Jois Freshman of the Year in Big Sky Conference and named in second all conference team by college sports madness. He is killing it despite injury and missing three games and playing not fully fit.
