NEWCASTLE Hunters teenager Kouat Noi has been named in a 20-man Australian squad to prepare for the 2014 FIBA under-17 world junior basketball championships.

The 15-year-old centre, who stands an imposing 198centimetres tall, was included in the preliminary squad to start training for the FIBA Oceania championships qualifying tournament next year. They will spend the June long weekend at a training camp.

The squad will likely include the players who played in the Oceania tournament

Kyle Clark
Jacob Pupavac
Jock Perry
Thomas Wilson
Dejan Vasiljevic
Abiola Akintola
Matthew Owies
Will and Darryl McDowell-White
Tim Molloy-Leigh

Also Jack White (Vic), Blake Allison (Vic) and Austin Clark (SA) attended the last camp, so they may get a call up again. There might be some others (2-3) but these, with those above, would be the majority of the squad.

I believe we must get Thon Maker on a Fiba Sanctioned Australia team very very soon, or we could very well lose him to the US.

you have to love Ed

Yeah i believe it is pretty hard getting him back from the US
Ed prays on these kids and will stay in there ear to not play in any other system that he isn't involved in

BA, BNSW and most of the clubs in sydney have struggled with him for years

so we might as well say good by to Thon Maker now
